Nun ist die Vorrichtung zum Gebrauch bereit. Der Arbeiter hängt die oben mit einem Haken versehene Stange an den Hopfendraht α (Fig. 1 und 3) und drückt dann den Schnepper f (Fig. 2) zurück. Die gespannte Feder e schleudert nun das Gleitstück d nach oben gegen den Draht α und hakt hierdurch die Schnur b mit dem Haken h an dem Draht ein. Hierauf fällt das Gleitstück d wieder von selbst nach abwärts, worauf das gleiche wiederholt werden kann.In use, the slider d is depressed so that it tensions the short spring e and catches itself on a snap f.
