Tape measure. The utility model refers to improvements to tape measures of the kind in which a length of a made of sextile material or spring steel
the length details are applied by printing or in some other way, is usually supported in the form of a spool within a housing in such a way that the tape can be used against the tension of a spring to any desired extent to carry out a measuring process, and the used tape length after use is pulled back into the housing.
so
massigen Handhabung gewisse Nachteile.
In known tape measures of this type, the housing within which the wound tape is housed is provided with an opening through which the tape passes, and this opening is usually arranged in the housing so that the extended stretched length of tape lies in a plane which tangential to the cylindrical Outer surface of the coil runs in the housing. This arrangement
the opening in the housing has a functional
massive handling certain disadvantages.
According to the utility model, pumping means are vo?
seen that cause the plane of the out of the opening
exiting belt with a plane tangential to it
the cylindrical surface of the wound tape in
Housing, can form any desired angle.
The opening and the guide means can be advantageous in this way
arranged aein that the tape exits in a plane that
substantially coincides with or runs parallel to a plane that is perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the reel, so that the tape is rotated by 900.
dargestellt. An embodiment of the utility model. is in the drawing for example
shown.

erstrecken.
geführt witdoFIG. 4 is a view of the measuring tape reel in one housing half and FIG. 5 is a view of the inside of the other housing half. FIG. 6 is a view similar to FIG. 1 modified embodiment of the housing.
As can be seen from the drawing, the improved
Tape measure case according to the usage pattern a pair of sqhalen-
shaped, essentially round parts,! and 2 on that
are interconnected by suitable means, such as. B. by connecting means 3 from a recess and a in her fitting tongue, which is around you around the circumference
mating surfaces extend in the vicinity of the outer edges of the housing parts. This housing serves to accommodate the tape 4 wound into a reel and a control spring 5. The housing is shaped in such a way that an enlargement is formed in which an opening 6a is located. This extension can advantageously be rectangular, so that the outer circumference of the housing is shaped like a spiral, as shown in FIG. 6, doh. the extension can form a rectangle with three corners removed and an arc of a circle forming the main part of the circumference. Optionally, as shown in Figures 1, 4 and 5, of which the extension forming rectangle only two corners away, so that
the housing has a straight lower edge 6 and two partially straight side edges 79 8 which are connected to one another by a semicircular part 9. The straight lower edge 6 can, if desired, be provided with a graduation similar to that of the band 4, which in the case of a measuring process can be used as an auxiliary scale.
The opening 6a. is the housing through which the tape
runs, is in the dex center plane of the housing l, 2 at right angles
arranged to the axis of rotation of the tape reel. The tape can
through appropriately shaped, interacting surfaces
from the coil to. Ofna be performed while ea m-
its own axis is rotated. The opening 6a itself can also serve solely to form the guide through which the band is given the necessary rotation, as shown in FIG. Preferably, the housing 1, 2 near the opening 6a is provided with thickened parts 10, 11 which form a guide through which the tape 4 is guided from the reel in the housing to the opening 6a and through it
