Bei diesem Verfahren wird ausserordentlich viel Wachs vergeudet. Es bleibt auch viel Wachs unverbraucht in und an dem Lappen haften, wo es eintrocknet. Der Lappen wird zusammen mit einer beträchtlichen Menge Bodenwachs schon nach einer oder wenigen Benutzungen fortgeworfen, weil er mit dem anhaftenden Wachs hart und für weiteren Gebrauch ungeeignet geworden ist. Es gibt auch Geräte zum Auftragen von Bodenwachs oder sonstigen Fussbodenpflegemitteln.
