The benzenesulfonyl carbamic acid esters or thiocarbamic acid esters mentioned can be used in the alcohol component have a low molecular weight alkyl radical or a phenyl radical. The same goes for that R-substituted carbamic acid esters or the corresponding Thiol carbamic acid ester.
The chlorides are primarily suitable as carbamic acid halides.
The process products thus have a very strong blood sugar-lowering effectiveness in one extremely good tolerance.
The benzenesulfonylureas described should preferably be used for the preparation of orally administrable products Preparations with blood sugar-lowering effectiveness are used to treat diabetes mellitus and can as such or in the form of their salts or in the presence of substances that lead to salt formation lead, be applied. For salt formation, for example, alkaline agents such as alkali or Alkaline earth hydroxides, carbonates or bicarbonates are used.
Tablets which, in addition to the products of the process, contain the usual auxiliaries and carriers such as Contain talc, starch, lactose, tragacanth or magnesium stearate.
A preparation containing the benzenesulfonylureas described as an active ingredient, e.g. B. a tablet or a powder with or without the additives mentioned is expedient in a suitably dosed form brought. The dose to be selected here is that which corresponds to the effectiveness of the benzenesulfonylurea used and adapted to the desired effect. Appropriately, the dosage per unit is approximately 0.5 to 100 mg, preferably 2 to 10 mg, but can also be considerably higher or lower Dosage units are used which, if necessary, have to be divided or multiplied prior to application are.
The superior effectiveness of the compounds according to the invention is further shown in the test reports below. The K10 values found here are compiled in Table 1 (KlO means blood sugar-lowering effect in % after oral administration of 10 mg of active substance per kg of test animal). A number of compounds of Belgian patent specification 6 54 561 were also examined in the same way. The values found in these investigations are compiled in Table 2. Table 3 also shows the limit values for the compounds mentioned in Tables 1 and 2. The limit value (body weight-wide) indicates the amount of active substance in mg / kg test animal in which a blood sugar drop of at least 10% is perceived. If one compares the pharmacological data of the compounds according to the invention with those of the known compounds, it can be seen that the former are distinguished by a significantly longer blood sugar-lowering activity.
