Durch die Mitte der Fafsböden C und C1 ist
eine hölzerne Welle D, auf welcher im Innern des Fasses die hölzerne Trommel E sitzt, gelegt
und in Pockholzlagern vermittelst des Speichenrades F drehbar. Statt des letzteren kann man
auch eine Kurbel oder ein Getriebe anwenden, um in diesem Falle die Umdrehung der Welle
bezw. der Trommel E bequemer zu machen. Die Trommel E besteht aus zwei kreisrunden,
mit zahlreichen Löchern versehenen siebförmigen Böden G und Gx und dem aus Latten a a a
gebildeten Mantel. Die Latten sind mit ihren Enden in die Böden G und G1 schwalbenschwanzförmig
eingezapft und haben ungefähr 8 bis 10 mm Abstand von einander. Um
die Temperatur im Innern des Essigbilders beobachten zu können, ist bei G ein Thermometer
