Description
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a crucible in an induction heating coil by filling a ramming mass into the crucible form using an in the form inserted hollow sheet metal core. The invention has for its object the use of powdery To enable ramming masses without the addition of binders, without such a crucible before use must be sintered for hours at high temperatures. There namely the sintering in the induction coil is carried out and the furnace cannot be used during the sintering period and there the crucible only has a limited service life and therefore has to be replaced often, this loss of time plays a role a crucial role for the profitability of a furnace. The invention makes this additional sintering time avoided.
It should be mentioned that although it is known to produce crucibles from ramming masses to which a binder has been added and in which sintering is caused by the temperature of use when the crucible is used for the first time. Shapes are used to which are inserted into the induction coil. Often you just use the one with fiberglass cloth or Asbestos lined coil itself as a shape and inserts a core. Then it is in the space in between The ramming mass is filled between the core and the inner wall of the mold, in the case of vacuum furnaces it is powdery Magnesium oxide or aluminum oxide. The hollow core can be made from a sheet of the same metal like the good that is to be melted or made from one of the main alloy components and when the crucible is used for the first time it is melted down together with the “filled in” goods. But with that the crucible without any special prior sintering alone at the usage temperature As mentioned, a binder is added to lower the sintering temperature necessary. Unfortunately, the common binders (e.g. boron oxide or silicon oxide) especially with vacuum furnaces the disadvantage that they are partially reduced by the hot melt and thus the metallic component contained in them gets into the melt, making them undesirable Way can be contaminated.
The method according to the invention, which largely avoids this disadvantage, is now characterized in that the hollow core is covered with pre-sintered, ceramic segments and then the ramming compound is poured into the space between the casing and the inner wall of the mold and then, without prior sintering of the crucible, that which is introduced into the hollow core and is to be melted Metal is melted together with this.
It should also be mentioned that although it was also known Building crucibles out of stones, which is expensive. Only thin-walled ones are used to clad the core Pre-sintered parts are required that are made of materials corresponding to the metallurgical Needs to be selected. In contrast to a masonry crucible, the casing must only have a relatively low mechanical strength; the crucible lining according to the invention serves to ensure that, after the sheet core has melted, the non-bonded crucible rammed earth is held in shape without creating a supporting shell by sintering must become.
The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.
Der Graphitkern kann erst nach stundenlangem Abkühlen herausgezogenThe F i g. 1 firstly shows how a crucible according to the known prior art is manufactured; can, in that in the form 2 located in the induction coil 1, in which a graphite core 3 is inserted, Magnesium oxide is pulped, which forms the crucible 4 after firing. The graphite core can only pulled out after hours of cooling
ίο werden, und erst dann ist der Tiegel nach Aufsetzen des Ausgußringes gebrauchsfertig.ίο, and only then is the crucible after being put on of the pouring ring ready for use.
In contrast, FIG. 2 shows a finished crucible according to the invention. He has an inner lining from individual pre-sintered segments 7 and is otherwise formed from a ramming mass 8, those placed in the space between the liner and that in the induction coil 11 Ceramic bowl 9 is filled. A second floor 10 is provided to provide a sufficiently solid base to form when pounding.
In the case of very high requirements with regard to the absorption of metals from binders, it can be useful not only the side wall but also the bottom of the pan with ceramic plates without additives of binding agents.
The usual pouring ring with pouring spout is denoted by 12.
■:··"■ -One advantage of the invention is that there is relatively great freedom with regard to the choice of tamping mass exists, d. That is, it can also be used ramming mixes that have a particularly high thermal Have insulating properties, e.g. B. zirconium oxide, or ramming compounds, which have other advantages especially would require high sintering temperatures, so there is a risk of sintering through, as is the case with others Ramming mass occurs over time, and the associated risk of cracking and penetration the melt is avoided through the cracks. You can also use ramming compounds, which do not have to meet high requirements in terms of purity and which are therefore inexpensive are. ■: ·· "■ -
