Nach vorliegender Erfindung wird ein zur Herstellung wasserdichter Stoffe geeignetes Anstrichmittel in der Weise hergestellt, daß man einen Teil des in bekannter Weise zusammen mit den Füllmitteln verwendeten Leinöls durch Gummitragasol ersetzt und die Teile dann innig miteinander vermischt. Gummitragasol wird, wie in der Patentschrift 89435 angegeben ist, aus der Frucht des Johannisbrotes hergestellt. Die Mengenverhältnisse der neuen Mischung, welche j.edoch in mancher Weise abgeändert werden können, sind etwa 15 Gewichtsteile gekochtes Leinöl, 5 Teile Gummitragasol und Y2 Teil eines Trockenmittels. Die Verwendung des Gummitragasols an Stelle eines Teiles des bisher benutzten Leinölfirnisses bietet sehr wesentliche Vorteile. Außer der Verbilligung des Öls wird dessen Ausgiebigkeit in hohem Maße vergrößert, d. h. es ist zur Herstellung eines gleich guten Anstriches mit dem neuen Anstrichmittel eine geringere Menge erforderlich, als zum Anstreichen desselben Gegenstandes mittels Leinöls allein. Ein sehr wesentlicher Vorteil besteht noch darin, daß das neue Öl infolge der Verwendung des Gummitragasols sehr leicht trocknet, was bei der Herstellung von wasserdichten Stoffen eine beträchtliche Ersparung an Kosten und Zeit bewirkt. Außer dieser Ersparnis an Material- und Trockenkosten hat das zusammengesetzte Öl den weiteren Vorteil, daß es die Biegsamkeit der Stoffe um etwa 25 Prozent vermehrt und dadurch deren Haltbarkeit entsprechend erhöht.According to the present invention, a paint suitable for the production of waterproof materials is prepared in such a way that part of the linseed oil used in a known manner together with the fillers is replaced by rubber ragasol and the parts are then intimately mixed with one another.
