MagnetischerMarschkompaß. Magnetic marching compass.
The one that is widespread today, especially in military organizations
March compass has several disadvantages. As a series of building on each other
measures and actions necessary for its use that require a thoughtful effort
which goes beyond the hatred of the purely mechanical is the use of the
Marching compasses are not nearly as common as their numerical distribution suggests
leaves. In the majority of cases, it is not used because one is concerned
cannot rely on the rich correct use by the individual man.

In addition, however, many people experience the same-sided observation

North, but the line of sight can point in all directions.
arschrichtuni-
Jedoch ist dies i. a. gar nicht
nötig. This is achieved with a marching compass, in which a pitch circle and a direction indicator are connected to the magnetic needle in such a way that they rotate at the same time as the magnetic needle, but towards each other
can optionally be adjusted by turning. Such a structure
must naturally be made as light as possible so that the

the compass needle NS, the pitch circle T and the direction indicator V, which can be set to any number of pitch circles with the help of the knurled nut R or a button, can be found, attached to one another. This triple structure is freely rotatably mounted, for example, on a thin pin, but the individual parts are not "freely" rotatable with respect to one another. Larken can be attached to the back of the partial circle, which allow the respective "declination" to be set for different geographic points by rotating the compass needle accordingly. Then the zero point of the division of the circle always points to geographical north. The compass needle itself is no longer visible to the observer at all. Should now after a certain i-. arschrichbungszahl be marched, sourd the direction

until it is visible to the eye as the first "auxiliary target" in the line of sight
seems, whereupon the next auxiliary march target can be sighted with greater accuracy by virtue of the reduced sighting baseline. However, this is generally not necessary.
In order to be able to easily set the direction indicator, it is necessary to
to be able to lock the pitch circle. This is in simpler, Veise with the help of
Brake shoes or claws possible, which can attack the tee circle. This
itself is expediently divided into usually 64 parts.
The determination of the marching direction number is also possible with this compass
easier than with the March compass, which has been in use up to now.
