Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
This procedure differs from the previous and known one in that there is none free acid to decompose the nitrite, on the other hand the latter as ammonium salt or in combination is applied with ammonium salts.
In the cold state there is initially no decomposition, but it does so on warming of the mixture applied to the fiber in a suitable form. This allows all for education of color precipitates through the combination of diazo compounds with naphthols and phenols to apply undecomposed substances to the fiber in a mixture and then the colors in the usual way of hanging other colors in practice and to develop and fixate dampening.
When applying this method to the diazo compounds of benzene and its homologues, furthermore of naphthalene, one obtains preferably red colors with the naphtholes, and in combination with diazobenzene or diazotoluene gelbroth, diazoxylol medium roth, diazonaphthalene violet Roth; With the phenols, yellow colors are obtained, namely in combination with diazobenzene, diazotoluene, diazoxylol pure yellow to orange, and with diazonaphthalene orange Sounds.
Specielles Verfahren.Special procedure.
To make a beautiful red on cotton fabric in a solid way:
2Va 1 Wasser, 2 Va 1 water,
200 g Stärke oder sonst ein geeignetes Verdickungsmittel, 200 g starch or any other suitable thickener,
144 g Betanaphtol,144 g betanaphtol,
121 g Xylidin, und .
69 g Natriumnitrit121 g xylidine, and.
69 g sodium nitrite
Nach dem Erkalten werden zugegeben und verrührt: 60 bis 100 g Salmiak oder die entsprechende Menge eines anderen Ammoniumsalzes (Nitrat, Acetat, Sulfat etc.).cooked to a homogeneous paste; Both naphthol and Xylidine can be distributed so finely that the mass gives off a good printing ink. After cooling, add and stir: 60 to 100 g salmiak or the corresponding amount of another ammonium salt (nitrate, acetate, sulfate, etc.).
Nitrate and ammonia can be used dry or in solution; the latter can be wholly or partly omitted when ammonium nitrite is used; when applying of sodium naphthol (or some other alkaline naphthol solution) is used accordingly add more ammonia.
The material is impregnated or printed with the mass, dried and steamed, whereupon it becomes immediately develops a pretty red color, which when washed out as durable, and therefore fixed in the fiber itself, proves.
The other bodies mentioned are used in equivalent proportions.
With phenolic paints, it is better not to steam, but after hanging in warm Room to pass through a weakly alkaline liquid or ammonia vapors. The phenolic paints are less durable.
