An Stelle der bis jetzt von unten vor die Rampe geschobenen Gaze oder Glasschirme, oder der neben einander angeordneten Brennerreihen mit verschiedenfarbigen Cylindern sind zur Verwandlung der Farben des Lichtes um die Flammen drehbare Glascylinder angeordnet, welche eine farblose und mehrere verschiedenfarbige Cylinderausschnitte besitzen. Die Anordnung derselben für eine Rampe mit stehenden Argand-Brennern zeigt die beiliegende Zeichnung; und es ist hieraus sowohl die excentrische Lage der Flammen, des Blechschirms zur Concentration des Lichtes auf den gerade benutzten Theil des farbigen Glascylinders, als auch die Drehvorrichtung für die Cylinder zu ersehen. Letztere besteht darin, dafs man mittelst Ziehens an einer Schnur, welche in der gezeichneten Weise um die mit den Cylindern fest verbundenen, um die Brennerrohre drehbaren Rollen geschlungen ist und durch Gegengewicht gespannt wird, die Drehung bewirken kann. Der Eintritt der gleich gefärbten Theile der Cylinder in das Beleuchtungsfeld der neben einander stehenden und auf einander folgenden Brenner erfolgt in einander entgegengesetzter Bewegungsrichtung, so dafs die Färbung bei einer gröfseren Anzähl von Brennern gleichmäfsig auf der ganzen beleuchteten Fläche eintretend erscheint.
