Inflation and separation assembly for a shock sensitive signaling device
zuX Accident Notification The inflation of a signal balloon in the event of an accident by a controlled
Piercing a container with compressed filling gas is already known. The present
Invention relates to improved inflation initiation and the
Separation of an inflatable balloon from a cylinder with inflation gas that together
with the folded balloon due to an impact from a vehicle, for example
an airplane being flattened; The main object of the invention is therefore a
improved method and apparatus for inflating a signal. balloons
and its separation from the inflator assembly. According to the task mentioned
The present invention is relatively compact and reliable
working mechanism on which the inflatable balloon in
unfilled
State and which is attached to the inflation device. The inflator
is set in motion by the release of a breakdown organ, which causes the exit
of a pressure cylinder containing inert gas for filling, which flows through the flow
restricting passages flows into the balloon to inflate it. Only when
the balloon is inflated to a suitable pressure, it is inflated by the inflator
detached, with which he held on one below the inlet pipe., himself
unwinding air line is connected.

aufblasbaren Ballonanordnung 62 an-
i in ausgezogenen Linien dargestellten Lage gehal-ten Wird, in Gang gesettt.

Durchschlagorgan be-

Teil 202 abstehenden Ohren 218-gelagerten
Dreh- , atift 216 drehbar am Teil 202 angebracht. Es wird nun deutlich,'
daß
nach Zurückziehen des Haltestiftes 98 das Durchschlagorgan
92 in die in
Fig. 2 dargestellte Lage gerückt wird, wodurch das
These objects, as well as other objects and advantages which will hereinafter become apparent, are based on details of construction and operation as fully described and claimed below with reference to the accompanying accompanying drawings, wherein like numerals apply to like parts throughout: FIG a longitudinal section through part of a shock-sensitive signaling device to indicate an accident and shows the improved arrangement for inflating and detaching the balloon. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view showing the balloon assembly detached from the inflator; Figure 3 is a cross section through a plane taken along section line 3-3 in Figure 1; Figure 4 is a cross-sectional view through a plane taken along section line 4-4 in Figure i; Figure 5 is a cross-sectional view through a plane taken along section line 5-5 in Figure 1; FIG. 6 is a section through a plane along the section line 6-6 in FIG .: I. Reference is now made in detail to the drawings . It can be seen from this that the inflation and separation mechanism, generally designated 200, is attached between the pressure cylinder 82, which contains a noble gas suitable for filling, such as helium, and an inflatable balloon arrangement 62 . Both the cylinder 82 and the filled balloon assembly 62 are interconnected when they are thrown or ejected. At this point , the mechanism 200 is started by releasing the trip lever 98, which is held in the position shown in solid lines in FIG. When the release lever 98 is released , it is moved by the action of the spring 100 into the position shown in FIG. 1 in dotted lines. The spring 100 is mounted thereto on the pin 96 and exerts between the trigger lever 98 and the holding part 202 a force, wherein said retaining member is fixedly attached to the Durckzyiinder 82 The holding member 202 supports the various components Ainet punch assembly 204, which after release of the trigger Lever 98 is activated to allow the pressurized gas to flow out of the cylinder 82. For this purpose, the holding part 202 has an inside near its lower end. with screw thread provided on piece 206, so that it can be attached to the outside screw threaded exit portion 86 of the Z-Y- Linders 82nd The pressurized Gqo is held in the cylinder by means of a pierceable disc 208 , which in turn is secured by the fastening ring g09 in . Position is held and by the breakdown member 92, as in rAg. 2-handed, can be pierced. The penetration member 92 is slidably disposed in an axial space 210 which extends in part 202 in alignment with the outlet piece 86 of the cylinder 82. is formed. A disk 212 is fastened to the breakdown member , as a result of which it is pressed downwards by the spring 94 ′ acting against this disk 212. However, against the action of the spring 94, the penetration member 92 is held in the retracted state by the retaining pin 96, the retaining pin 96 protruding through the lateral bore 214 into the space 210. The release lever 98 is for this purpose with the aid of the between the. Part 202 protruding ears 218-mounted pivot , atift 216 rotatably attached to part 202. It is now clear 'that the punch body is moved into the position shown in Fig. 2 layer 92 after withdrawal of the retaining pin 98, whereby the pressurized gas can flow from the cylinder 82 through the openings 220 in the disk 212 in the room 210 .

The wound line 230 is carried up to its full length with the bailon in order to limit the ascent of the balloon device, since the line is attached between the anchors 228 and 298 on the support tube part 224 or on the support part 258.
From the foregoing description, the construction, operation, and utility of the inflation and deflation device will be apparent. It should be noted that the device is small in size and works reliably : the device not only serves to cause the pressurized filling gas to flow out of the cylinder, but also brings the gas into the appropriate state in order to make it detachable properly inflate attached balloon assembly. Only when the pressure within the balloon device has reached the appropriate level is it released by the mechanism so that it can be separated therefrom. At this point in time, the ball 254 is pressed against the support surface again by the pressure prevailing in the balloon and the counter spring 266 , so that the pressure therein is maintained. In addition , more convenient space is provided for the coiled air line, which is less likely to become soiled when the device becomes detached from the inflation mechanism.
