Die Feuerröhren dringen durch Oeffhungen in diese Platte und zwar derart, dafs der Dampf, welcher sich unterhalb der Platte G sammelt, gezwungen ist, die kleinen ringförmigen Zwischenräume zwischen den in die Platte gebohrten Löchern und den Feuerröhren zu passiren, um nach dem oberhalb der Platte G gelegenem Räume und dem Dampfrohre zu gelangen. Der Boden J des Kessels ist bestimmt, die von der Verdampfung herrührenden Niederschläge aufzunehmen, und kann der sich hier bildende Kesselstein durch Wegnahme des Bodens leicht beseitigt werden. Die auf dem Rost entwickelten Feuergase treten in die Feuerbüchse und durchströmen die Feuerröhren E, wobei sie den Dampf in der unteren Partie des Kessels erzeugen und in der oberen Partie trocknen, strömen dann um den Kessel herum nach unten und gelangen zuletzt in den Fuchs, in welchem sich noch ein Speisewasservorwärmer K anbringen läfst.The boiler consists of a cylinder A; A pipe B containing the furnace penetrates through its lower part and carries the fire box C with the pipe plate D. above it.
