Solche Warenbahnen werden daher mittels Kluppen durch den Spannrahmen transportiert. Da aber die Kluppen die Warenbahn nicht gleichmäßig erfassen, ergeben sich unter dem Breitenzug wellige Warenkanten. Es ist daher erforderlich, daß alle Kluppen die Warenbahn in gleicher Entfernung, und zwar möglichst nahe an den Kanten erfassen. Bisher wird die Warenbahn zunächst mit Breitenüberschuß in die durch Steuerdaumen offen gehaltenen Kluppen eingeführt. Nach der Freigabe der Steuerdateien schließen die Kluppen erst, wenn die in der Mitte durchhängende Warenbahn durch ihr Eigengewicht oder eintretende Breitenspannung soweit aus den Kluppen herausgezogen ist, daß den Warenbahnrand abtastende Rollen oder Gleitstücke hinter den Kluppenmessern nicht mehr durch die Warenbahn am Abfallen gehindert sind.
