Coals, ores and other substances are made according to the present process in the manner

Ι shown in vertical longitudinal section and in Fig. 2 in vertical cross section. The material supplied with water in the channel α slides over the inclined sieve bottom b, with a large part, possibly. the main part of this water and with it the finer parts suspended or entrained therein fall through the perforations of the sieve bottom b onto a sieve bottom m arranged below it, which absorbs the impact force of this mixture and causes it to be smoothly and evenly distributed. The rough or Coarser material passes over the sieve bottom b onto the slowly moving conveyor belt g, which is guided over disks c, d and f and is provided with side plates h. By now moving the coarser material by means of the conveyor belt g in the direction indicated by the arrow (Fig. 1), it is moved under the sieve bottom m , and it becomes the mixture of water and fine material coming down from this in a calm, even jet Well distributed above it, with the fine good now passing through the one below

auf das oder die Verteilungssiebe m zu leiten;
feinere Gut auf dem gröberen verteilt, so daß es stets eine Klärschicht für das weiter nachfließende Wasser bildet.located coarser withheld respectively. is collected and itself forms a clearing layer for the water flowing in further from above, at least insofar as the length of the sieve bottom m is considered. Of course, the length of this sieve bottom does not have to be based on that of the sieve bottom b , because the sieve bottom m not only has the purpose of canceling the impact of the water, but also of causing a better distribution of this water, for whatever reason it is one greater length than the sieve bottom b can have. Moreover, in place of a sieve tray m which for example, two to be present, resulting in a further increase in the aforementioned two effects has resulted. On the other hand, it is' but also not even necessary to be or the sieve trays m directly below the sieve base b . to arrange this directly above the sieve tray or trays m , because the extraction of a more or less large part of the water from the mixture coming down through the channel a can also take place at a slightly higher point of this channel, whereby it is then easy to remove the withdrawn water in any suitable manner to the distribution sieve or sieves m ; In one case as in the other, the finer material suspended in the water and carried along by it is distributed over the coarser one, so that it always forms a clearing layer for the water that continues to flow in.
