Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
The object of the invention is a device for the transmission of the ebb and flow Both high tide and pendulum motion caused by rolling ocean waves and wind of a ship's hull on a power wave.
The essence of the invention lies in the design of the device through which the Ship's hull with respect to its longitudinal axis at right angles to the approaching one at any time Waves is set. This setting is done by a free-standing floating one Rudder, which is inevitably connected to a positively guided frame, with the actual hull swinging freely around its transverse axis on this frame and is adjustable in height.
Dieses Ruder u ist um eine senkrechte Achse t drehbar und kann sich auf derselbenThis arrangement ensures that the frame, and thus the hull, is secured at all times in a position corresponding to the direction of the wave, without the other movements of the hull being hindered as a result. Embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawing. 1 shows the arrangement of the hull in relation to the floating frame and the power shaft in a side view; FIG. 2 shows the hull in its arrangement with respect to the power shaft alone; Fig. 4 is a front view, partly in cross-section, of the hull; Figures 5 and 6 are two different embodiments of the positive guidance of the floating frame. The hull a, the lower part or bottom of which is expediently rounded, is fastened to a frame which consists of the side spars r and the connecting bolts of the same (FIGS. 1, 5 and 6). This fastening must not be rigid, but must be set up in such a way that the ship can yield to the waves hitting the frame. For this purpose, the hull rests with pins attached to its longitudinal sides in the direction of the transverse axis in bearings which can be displaced between guide columns attached to the frame spars r (FIG. 1). With this arrangement, the hull is a free, oscillating BEZW. pendulum movement around its bearing journals allowed, so that it can join in the movements caused by the ebb and flow of the tide as well as by the waves of the sea. The frame itself is arranged in such a way that it only allows the waves to enter its interior from the open sea. to the hull mounted between the frame spars. In order to achieve this, the frame can be guided either on a semicircular guide bar ρ (FIG. 5) or on a ring float p 1 (FIG. 6). The corresponding setting of the frame and thereby of the hull is effected and from the sea by a positively connected, detached and floating to the frame rudder. This rudder u is rotatable about a vertical axis t and can move on the same
