In einem Metallrohr α ist ein zweites Metallrohr b verschiebbar angeordnet. Dieses Metallrohr b besitzt an seinem unteren Ende im Innern eine Feder c, die mit einem Stifte d versehen ist. Die Feder drückt den Stift in eines der Löcher e und f, die sich in der Wandung des Rohres α am oberen und unteren Ende desselben befinden, je nachdem die Rohre ausgezogen oder zusammengeschoben sind, und bewirkt so eine feste Verbindung der beiden Rohre. Am oberen Ende des inneren Rohres b sind nun in einem stumpfen Winkel zu demselben 2 Stützen g und h angebracht, in deren oberem Ende eine kurze Welle i gelagert ist. Dieselbe besitzt zu beiden Seiten Vierkante, auf welche die Träger k der Schwämme Z aufgesteckt werden. Zur Befestigung dienen die Stellschrauben m. Zwischen den Stützen g und h befindet sich eine mit der Welle i fest verbundene, mit Zähnen versehene Rolle n, welche durch eine endlose Kette ο mit einer zweiten, aber losen Rolle ρ verbunden ist. Dieselbe ist außer mit Zähnen noch mit einer Rille versehen und oberhalb des Rohres b zwischen den Stützen g und h angeordnet. Am unteren Ende des Rohrteiles α befindet sich eine dritte, ebenfalls lose Rolle r. Über die Rolle ρ und r läuft eine endlose Schnur q, und zwar mit ihrem einen Teil im Rohre b und mit ihrem anderen außerhalb desselben. Um dieser Schnur q immer die nötige Spannung zu geben, ist in dieselbe eine Feder s so eingeschaltet, daß der obere Endring S₁ derselben mit dem einen Ende der Schnur q fest verbunden ist, während das andere Ende der Schnur durch den unteren Endring S₂ der Feder s hindurch ein Stück, das der ausziehbaren Länge der beidenA second metal tube b is slidably arranged in a metal tube α.
