Elektrisches Wellenfilter Die Erfindung betrifft elektrische Wellenfilter
Fiequenz auftritt; zwei Elektroden
befinden sich an der einen Breitseite
und mindestens eine Gegenelektrode an der entgegengesetzten Breitseite der-Reson@.torelemente;
Fig. 1 ist eine teilweise geschnittene perspektivische Ansicht

Electric Wave Filter The invention relates to electric wave filters
and in particular bandpass filters or sieve chains, the electrical resonator elements
use. Filters of this general type have long been known, but their uses
is limited by certain shortcomings, including the relatively high cost of their

Resonators, which consist of parts of a piezoelectric crystal and with a

is desired, an assortment will be available before. Crystals with different frequency properties
and tools used to selectively switch between these crystals
can be: On the other hand, devices for replacing the Z-crystals are provided.
The first mentioned filters are an assortment of relatively expensive crystals

Ceramic material, e.g. barium titanate, lead zirconate titanate or another polycrystalline

ferroelectric ceramics are polycrystalline, ceramic ones fired to maturity
Substances that are brought into a certain state by the application of an electrostatic field

Such ceramics are usually characterized by a perovskite crystal structure

than most natural piezoelectric crystals; if

Properly polarized is common with some ferroelectric ceramics, in particular
In the case of the lead titanate zirconates, an electromechanical coupling retained in planer
or radial direction on the order of 50 j or more is quite unusual.
Unlike most piezoelectric crystals, all are ferroelectric
polycrystalline ceramics in a plane perpendicular to the axis or through the direction of polarization
isotropic. Disks made from ceramics of this type therefore vibrate axially (or in
the thickness) as well as really radial (or with an expansion in the circumferential direction).
The radial vibrational state does not exist in isolation in quartz or even in
Single crystals made from ferroelectric materials. Another peculiarity of the polarized
Ferroelectric ceramics is the slow decay or "aging" of the electromechanical
coupling and the change in other properties, e.g. the dielectric constant
and the frequency constant with time and / or temperature. If some ceramics
show a stronger aging and temperature dependence of their properties than
others, say the more stable materials, e.g. lead titanate zirconate ceramics for one

common ceramic processes, e.g. by pressing, extrusion or coarse casting
be made with larger dimensions; after the subsequent firing
the final dimensions are produced by grinding and polishing. on the other hand
the raw disc can be cut out of a piece of a cylinder from the mature ceramic

Das Resonatorelement 10 weist Kondensatorelektroden auf, die vier
Anschlüsse darstellen. Bei der dargestellten Ausführungsform
bestehen
ihren Breitseiten in ihrer Dickenrichtung polarisiert.

Hinsicht etwa einander identisch.

In the embodiment shown, they consist of a k) -eisrunden center electrode 14 on one broad side of the disk 12, of a ring electrode 16 which is concentrically arranged on the same disk surface, and of at least one counter electrode 18 on the opposite broad side of the disk. The counter electrode 18 can also be in the form of separate circular ring electrodes which are attached opposite the electrodes 12 and 14. The pane 12 is polarized in its thickness direction by the application of an electrostatic field between its broad sides. The polarization can extend over the entire cross-sectional area of the disk or be limited to the areas which lie under the electrodes 14 and 16. The disk 12 can expediently be polarized in the latter form in that the electrodes 14 and 16 are attached. one pole of a DC voltage source and the electrode 18 are connected to the other pole. Various specific known polarization methods can be used here. The disk 12 polarized in this way and provided with electrodes vibrates radially in the direction of polarization when a current signal is applied. At a given frequency, the resonator 10 exhibits a mechanical resonance in the fundamental or a harmonic. In the embodiment shown, this is achieved by suitable dimensioning of the disk 12. The thickness extension of the disk 12 is very small compared to the diameter; consequently, the resonance frequency is almost entirely determined by the disk diameter, and the oscillation is radial, as explained above. In the case of an intermediate frequency bandpass filter, the resonance frequency of the fundamental or harmonic essentially coincides with the desired center frequency of the transmission range of, for example, 455 kHz. The frequency of the first harmonic is preferred because the electrodes 14 and 16 can then be placed in the region of maximum radial stress and spurious response is greatly avoided. Another advantage of resonance in the first harmonic of intermediate frequency filters is that the diameter of the disk can be so large; that easy handling is possible. The resonator elements for the filters described here have the following approximate constructive auxiliary sizes: Modified lead zirconate titanate: Pb0995Sr0105 (Zr0.53Ti0.47) 03 + 0.7 percent by weight Cr 203 Disk 12 diameter: 17/32 in. An intermediate frequency bandpass filter 20 can be seen schematically in FIG. 2, which contains a plurality of electromechanical resonator elements with connections which are connected in series or in cascade. Four resonator elements 10a-10d in the special shape of the resonator element 10 are shown. These elements 10a-10d are approximately identical to one another in all respects. In the filter 20, corresponding counter-electrodes 18e-18d of all resonator elements are directly connected to one another by a conductor 22. The input signal is applied between a connection terminal 24 on conductor 22 and a connection terminal 26 of a conductor 28 which is connected to a center electrode 14a of the disk 10a. In this way the input signal is applied to the center electrode of the first disc; instead, however, the input signal can also be fed to the ring electrode. As can never be seen from the further description, the resonator elements behave like impedance converters, whose: center electrode is the connection terminal with the high impedance and whose ring electrode is the connection terminal with the low impedance. In order to achieve a good impedance matching and consequently a maximum energy transfer between the stages of the sieve chain, one electrode (the central or ring electrode) of the relevant elements is connected to the corresponding electrode of the next element. In the circuit according to FIG. 2, a conductor 30 connects a ring electrode 16a of the resonator 10a with a ring electrode 16b of the resonator 10b; a conductor 32 connects an electrode 14b of the resonator 10b to a center electrode 14c of the resonator 10c; a conductor 34 connects a ring electrode 16c of the resonator 10c to a ring electrode 16d of the resonator 10d. The output signal appears between a connection terminal 36, which is connected to a -: Jittelelectrode 14d of the resonator / 10d, and a common ground connection 38 of the conductor 22. It should be emphasized that the impedance is at the input terminals 24, 28 and at the output terminals 36, 38 the same.

Beziehungen anwenden: Eingangsimpedanz Zl = w LmQ Q = w Lm/RZ
In
Schalters 54 ist mit der Mittelelektrode 14e des Resonatorelementes loc verbunden;
The bandwidth of the filters according to the invention is influenced by the value and the ratio of the coupling capacitors, as can be seen from the following calculation, which is carried out with reference to FIGS. 5-9. FIG. 5 is an equivalent circuit diagram for the resonator element 10 with four connections, the losses being neglected. In this circuit: Im the mass of the disk 12, Cm the flexibility of the material of the disk 12, CD the electrical capacitance at the i; center electrode 14, CR the electrical capacitance at the ring electrode 16, N an ideal converter, its conversion ratio essentially same is. FIG. 6 shows an equivalent circuit diagram corresponding to FIG. 5, which is modified by replacing the variable CR with the variable C111 (= CR / NL) and adding a load impedance R. If the load impedance RZ in FIG. 6 is less than the capacitive effective resistance of CR1, it can be assumed that C R1 = 0 and the circuit is reduced to the circuit diagram according to FIG. If the quality factor Q of the network is greater than 10, the equation for a parallel resonance frequency fa of the circuit according to FIG. 7 is: From equation (1) it can be seen that this frequency corresponds to the counter-resonance frequency of the center electrode when the ring electrode is short-circuited; it also corresponds to the resonance frequency of the ring electrode with an isolated Irlittelelectrode. As can be seen, the result is an impedance-converting network that has a very low impedance at the ring electrode and a very high impedance at the center electrode. If one draws an analogy between the circuit according to FIG. 7 and a conventional Z-section which converts the impedance, the following relationships can be used: input impedance Zl = w LmQ Q = w Lm / RZ ZiRZ = (w Lm) 2 For a given inductance Lm, a constant is established which is equal to the product of the input and output impedance. There is a large fourth range for Zi and RZ, as the quality factor Q of the network changes directly with the ratio Zi / RZ. From FIG. 8, which shows an equivalent circuit diagram for the filter shown in FIG Bandwidth of the filter become lower. Generally speaking, the bandwidth is then changed by changing the ratio of input to output impedance while keeping the product of input and output impedance equal to a constant. Before describing the results obtained by applying these principles, a filter 44 with a variable bandwidth according to FIG. 9 is explained. The filter 44 contains the resonator elements 10a and 10b and 10e, which, as previously described, are connected as a chain and are shown in FIG. Instead of the individual capacitors C1 and C2, the filter 44 contains capacitor banks 46 and 48, which are constructed from a plurality of individual capacitors and can be connected in parallel or in series between the resonator elements. In the embodiment shown, the capacitor bank 46 contains four capacitors 46a-46d, one terminal of which is connected to the conductor 30 which runs between the two ring electrodes 16a and 16b of the resonator elements 10a and 10b. The other terminals of capacitors 46g-46t (are connected to contact points AD of a selector switch 50. A moving contact 52 of switch 50 is connected to conductor 24 so that any capacitor 46a-46d is selected and in parallel between resonator elements 10a and 10b Any number of capacitors can be used, depending on the desired parts of the bandwidth. In addition, the capacitors and the switch can be arranged in such a way that the individual capacitors can be superimposed, ie added together; If a rotary selector switch is also specified, this representation is chosen for reasons of convenience and simplicity; any other selector switch can also be used.In the same way, the capacitor bank 48 contains four capacitors 48a-48d, one of which is connected to the conductor 34 and its other connection to a contact A'-D 'of a selector switch 54 in Connection. The moving contact portion 56 of the switch 54 is connected to the center electrode 14e of the resonator element loc; in this way, any capacitor 48a-48d can be selected and connected in series between resonator elements 10b and 16c. The number of capacitors in bank 48 corresponds to the number of capacitor bank 46; the moving contacts 52 and 56 of switches 50 and 54 are mechanically linked as indicated by broken line 56 so that the selection of capacitors in the respective banks is coordinated.

The values of the respective individual capacitors 46a-46b and 48a-48b are selected such that the ratio of input to output impedance can be progressively changed while the product of these impedances remains essentially constant. A family of curves IV is plotted in FIG. 10 which shows the typical transmission properties and bandwidth changes which are obtainable with the filter according to the invention. These curves are obtained with a four resonator filter shown in FIG. The resonator elements have a resonance frequency at the first harmonic of 455 kHz; the other constants of the circuit are shown in the following table: Curve i Cl, C3 'C2 bandwidth bandwidth form factor

From the values given above and the curves shown in FIG. 10 it can be seen that the filters according to the invention have a considerable bandwidth range, extremely symmetrical transmission properties with a relatively uniform form factor and an essentially constant center frequency. The subject matter of the invention can also be applied to variable bandwidth filters according to FIG. 9; it can also be used in the manufacture of fixed bandwidth filters over a wide range of bandwidths.
