Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
The present invention relates to innovations in rifles and similar small arms and aims to make the length of the barrel of a carbine as great as at ordinary service rifles without increasing the overall length of these weapons. to For this purpose, the barrel is attached to the stock in such a way that that with the cartridge chamber provided end of the same comes into the vicinity of the rifle butt, so that hereby the length of the barrels is increased.
In the drawings, Fig. 1 is a longitudinal view, Fig. 2 is a plan view of the rifle and Fig. 3 is a partial side view of the barrel and rifle lock in the distant view Piston and stem.
As can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, the barrel a of the carbine, which has the length of the usual barrels used for service rifles, is led to the butt b 'of the stock b , in which the cartridge magazine, instead of the usual, in front of the Piston b is arranged. In the illustrated embodiment, the lock c 'of the rifle is arranged inclined towards the barrel both in plan and in elevation, ie inclined to the right and downwards towards the rear end of the piston b' . This arrangement makes aiming with the carbine much easier. The parts of the rifle mechanism can be of the usual design since the present invention. Can be used on rifles and other commonly used handguns. However, the arrangement of certain parts must nevertheless be changed in order to bring their position in line with the changed position of the rifle lock. For example, since in the present rifle the distance from the shoulder to the trigger should remain as in the usual, a connection between the trigger and the lock is provided, which consists of a pull rod d or a lever which runs below the cartridge magazine and in special pieces e arranged between the barrel α and the trigger guard f is performed. One end of this rod d is hinged to the trigger g and the other to a lever h connected to the trigger bar i of the lock. This lever acts on the trigger bar i and thereby triggers the firing pin.
