Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 29. Mai 1901 ab.Patented in the German Empire on May 29, 1901.
The purpose of the present invention is to allow individual glass bricks to be replaced without To facilitate disruption of the association, which has so far mainly been the case with one-sided open, mostly hollow glass blocks produced by pressing became considerably more difficult as a result, that the binding agent (lime or cement mortar, glass putty, etc.) partly enters the cavity penetrated the stone and later made replacement difficult. About this intrusion To prevent the binder are on the closed side of the storage areas of each Stones arranged elevations, which extend to a side edge and from the remaining side edges remain around the width of the side walls of the stones. These increases correspond to cutouts in one wall of the open stone side. On the same stone lie the side surface up to which the elevations reach, and the one in which the cutouts are on opposite sides. Should now such stones in association be walled up and if they are all laid with the open side down, so must the stones are rotated in such a way that, if in the first runner layer, all of the cutouts lie on one side of the wall, the cutouts in the next layer of runners lie on the other side. The binder is only in the bed joints, so around the raised areas of the closed side around, applied in an appropriate thickness and then the glass stone of the next layer is pressed in, whereby the elevations prevent the penetration of the Prevent binding agent into the cavity of the stone. This gives you a clean joint Glass stone wall without light-robbing pieces of mortar in the cavities of the individual stones and thus the practically achievable highest light transmission. From the foregoing it appears that individual stones of one and the same runner layer only after one and the same Side out from which dressings can be removed, while the one below and above This only permitted from the opposite side. This will achieved that when a stone is exchanged above and below it, the bandage is lost offers the necessary resistance without disturbing it.
The accompanying drawing illustrates in FIGS. 1 to 3 such a hollow glass block in two perpendicular sections and a plan view. FIGS. 4 and 5 show a glass wall made of such stones in association. It denotes fff the horizontal joints, eee the elevations delimiting them, 1, 2, 3, 4 the individual stretcher layers and α α α the cutouts corresponding to the elevations e in a wall of the open stone side.
