Der Stift 7 ist im Winkel von etwa 76⁰ auf einem Stabe 1 befestigt, an dessen einem Ende eine feste Klemmbacke 2 sitzt, während das andere Ende mit Gewinde versehen ist, auf dem eine Gegenbacke 3 mittelst Stellmutter 4 verschiebbar ist. Die Mutter 4 und die Backe 3 greifen mittelst eines schwalbenschwanzförmigen Ansatzes in einander, so dafs beim Zurückschrauben der Mutter die Backe auch wieder zurückbewegt wird. Die Klemmflächen der Backen 2 und 3 sind mit einem elastischen Stoffe 6 bekleidet, um die Geige nicht zu beschädigen.
