In the production of drawn, oriented polyamide threads, these are first spun, then wound into a bobbin and finally subjected to a stretching treatment, whereby the Oriented threads and wound into a new bobbin.
So there is a dwell time between the spinning and drawing treatment in which the spun Filaments are kept under uniform temperature and humidity conditions. During this Dwell time, the threads are subject to a number of physical changes. So absorb The threads experience moisture from the finish and / or from the environment, continue to crystallize out a slight change in their length and an increase in their refraction. In addition, distributed the finish applied to the threads during spinning evenly on the threads, since excess surface moisture can evaporate.
Attempts have been made to reduce the economic viability of producing polyamide yarns to improve that the spinning and drawing treatments combined into a single spinning-drawing process however, these attempts have for the most part been found to be ineffective in doing so very many thread breaks occurred and a low draw ratio had to be used. That Yarn made in this way has a lower strength and higher extensibility than a yarn that produced by the usual batch process. The poor properties Such threads are evidently due to the fact that they are not the physical ones mentioned Experiencing changes that occur during the dwell time.
It has now been found that, contrary to the theories previously accepted, according to which the dwell time was considered necessary in order to be able to carry out a drawing treatment, good properties can be achieved with continuously spun and drawn threads, if the stretching takes place only about 10 seconds after applying the finish, so that on in this way an economical continuous spinning-drawing process can be carried out.
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft somit ein Verfahren zur kontinuierlichen Herstellung von Polyamidfäden, auf die nach dem Austritt aus der Spinndüse und dem Abkühlen eine Appretur aufgebracht wird, woraufhin die Fäden um 300 °/o verstreckt werden, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß dasThe present invention thus relates to a process for the continuous production of polyamide threads, on which a finish is applied after exiting the spinneret and cooling is, whereupon the threads are stretched by 300%, which is characterized in that the

Drawing the threads within the time interval of less than 60 seconds and more than 10 seconds takes place after applying the finish.
und Trennwalze geführt worden ist, wird es in einerAn embodiment of the method according to the invention is illustrated in the drawing.
As can be seen from the drawing, the threads 1 and 2 emerging from the spinnerets 2 and 4 are cooled in a channel, whereupon they are combined on a guide 7 to form a thread bundle 6. The thread bundle 6 produced in this way is then passed over a finish application roller 8 and finally fed through a guide 9 to feed and separating rollers 10 and 11 , around which they are wrapped in two turns before being wrapped several times around the feed roller 10 and a freely rotating roller 12 which is spaced from the feed roller. The distance between the feed roller 10 and the freely rotating roller 12 and the number of turns which the thread bundle is wrapped around these rollers is adjusted so that the desired dwell time is obtained. After the thread bundle has been guided a few turns around the feed and separating roller, it becomes in a

Winding around a pin 13, through which the extension point is located, whereupon the Bundle of thread in several turns around stretching and separating rollers 14 and 15 is guided to finally not to be wound onto a bobbin 16 in a twisted manner.
The subject of the invention is explained in more detail in the following example.
Polyhexamethylene adipamide with a content of 0.2% titanium dioxide and a relative viscosity of 33 was through spinneret plates, each containing 34 spout holes, as shown in the drawing, spun into threads. The distance between the feed rollers 10 and the freely rotating Roller 12 was set to give a dwell time of 15 seconds for the yarn. In In a control experiment, the same polymer ao was processed under the same spinning conditions, with however, the filaments were spun and drawn with no dwell time. The spinning and drawing conditions and the physical properties of the drawn yarns are compiled in the table below.

The relative viscosity of polyhexamethylene adipamide was determined by the viscosity a 90 weight percent aqueous solution of formic acid and an 8.4 weight percent Solution of the polymer was measured.
Improved draw ratios are obtained when the threads stay in a humid atmosphere, ie an atmosphere which has a relative humidity of at least 70%.
It is also possible to use other methods of damaging the threads, for example a thread feed reel or pairs of twisting rollers. Large feed rollers or multiple wraps around the feed rollers can also be used. It is also possible to use a stuffer box as a delay tube. The method according to the invention is only applicable to threads which are spun from any synthetic polymer which has a high moisture content.
