The present invention relates to a method for producing reliefs in Metal, celluloid, plaster of paris or the like. By photographic means. The procedure is based on the well-known fact that a layer of glue made photosensitive with chromium salts loses its ability to swell in the light. If such a layer is placed under a photographic, specially produced negative or slide exposed to light and Developed in water or some other suitable liquid, the unexposed swell Set up while the exposed areas are not at all, or according to the degree of exposure swell only in part. In this way, a relief is obtained, which is easily achieved or after suitable treatment with tanning agents either indirectly or directly Used or on as a matrix for molding in metal, celluloid, plaster of paris or the like can be molded galvanically.
Es kennzeichnet sich im Wesentlichen wie folgt:A method for producing such negatives is already known from patent specification 86269 known. This method is only suitable for inanimate objects such as busts and the like. The present proceedings, on the other hand, are mainly more lively for reproduction People charged. It is essentially characterized as follows:
The high parts of the plastic object to be photographed become in proportion longer exposed to the deeper ones, in such a way that one illuminates uniformly from all sides Object for the duration of the photographic exposure of the photographic The side facing away from the apparatus continues from the side facing the apparatus cast a shadow. The result of such a photograph In its density values, negative corresponds exactly to the altitude of the one to be depicted plastic objects, d. H. the highest parts of the object, which were exposed the longest in this way, are densest in the negative, the deepest parts, which are right after the beginning the exposition in the shade, however, the most transparent.
Β. a person will be sufficient from both sides by one wide strip of light fully illuminated. To make the light distribution uniform, can the light (preferably electric incandescent or arc light) through frosted glass onto the Throw object. All other light that could fall on the object must be shut off. On the side and above around the object, between it and the light source, a screen of dense fabric is attached, which slide mechanically from back to front (towards the photographic apparatus) can. The distance between the screen and the object must not be too great, so that the cast shadow, which the screen throws at the object when gliding forward, as sharp as possible
