Cylinder head of a four-stroke reciprocating internal combustion engine. The invention
relates to a cylinder head of a four-stroke reciprocating internal combustion engine, the bottom of which
near the web part between the openings for the inlet and outlet valve an annular,
has rounded groove at the base.
When starting four-stroke piston internal combustion engines and loading them immediately, the cylinder head base, insofar as it delimits the combustion chamber, is subject to a sharp rise in temperature due to the sudden heat build-up, which initially only affects the outermost layers of the cylinder head material on the combustion chamber side. This creates strong thermal stresses in these layers, as the still cold parts of the cylinder head prevent the head from being deformed as a result of the strong heating. Particularly in the case of strong heating in the middle of the cylinder head base, as is the case in machines with direct injection and a centrally located, constricted trough, local overstressing in the middle of the cylinder head and thus compression can occur when the machine is switched off as a result of the cooling that begins here, this leads to tensile stresses and cracks in the cylinder head material. Since the tensions in the direction of the connecting line of the valve axes are largely reduced by the openings for the inlet and outlet valves, the tensions in the direction of this web remain mainly effective in the web part between the two valve openings. As a result of these thermal stresses, the cracks usually begin at the weakest point of the web part between the valve openings. The reduction of these voltages is a provided near the bridge portion between the openings for inlet and outlet valves annular, rounded at the bottom groove, which permits Ausdehnuno, the outermost aefährdeten t 'CD layers of the web portion between the valve ports. The known cylinder heads provided with such a relief groove have the disadvantage that the groove is open, so that it represents an undesirable increase in both the combustion chamber volume and the area delimiting this space to be heated. This deficiency is remedied according to the invention in that the groove is filled up to a narrow gap running in the circumferential direction inside or outside.
The filling of the groove can be any suitable within the scope of the invention
Way. It is always important to ensure that the groove is well rounded at the bottom
is to prevent notch effects.
One suggestion for filling the groove is to use a filler body
The pin of the cylinder head material surrounding the groove is to be tapered with a ring.
Another possibility is to pour in a filler body as a ring,
this ring has a tortis-like approach at its remote from the combustion chamber
Should have end to prevent falling out.
It should be noted that the groove in order to avoid
Notch effects should always be self-contained, preferably circular.
But it can also run oval.
Die Zeichnung stellt zwei Ausführungsbeispiele des erfindungsgemäßen
Zylinderkopfes dar.The drawing represents two embodiments of the invention
Cylinder head.
From b. 1 shows a section along the line IJ in A b b. 2 through the cylinder head of an air-cooled, air-compressing four-stroke reciprocating internal combustion engine with direct injection, from b. 2 shows the same cylinder head in plan view of its bottom; From b. 3 and 4 illustrate two possibilities for forming the groove in a cylinder head according to the invention.
gegen thermische Spannungen besonders empfindlichen Stegteils 6
(s.
A b b. 2) noch eine Nut 7 in den Boden 2 des Zy-
linderkopfes
Zapfen 8
aufgesehrumpften Ring 9 ausgefüllt ist. Der Spalt
a
Nut 7
ein Spalt a belassen. The cylinder head 1 according to the Ab b. 1 and 2 has a concavely curved base 2 in which two openings 3 and 4 for the inlet and outlet valve and a bore 5 for the injection nozzle are provided. The bore 5 is in close proximity to the particularly sensitive to thermal stresses web portion 6 (see A b b 2..) Approximately diametrically opposite to another groove 7 incorporated linder head in the bottom 2 of the Z-Y-, - up to a narrow gap a between a ring 9, which is sumped onto the free-standing pin 8 , is filled. The gap a enables the web part 6 to expand in the event of sudden strong heating, and there is no overstressing. In A b b. 3 are the groove 7 and the ring 9 according to the A b b. 1 and 2 shown larger. From b. 4 shows a groove 10 with a cast-in ring 11. The latter is designed like a torus at its end facing away from the combustion chamber, so that it cannot fall out and no notch stresses arise when the cylinder head 1 is heated. As with the groove according to A b b. 1 to 3 , a gap a is also left here.
