Das Verfahren der Erfindung ist besonders geeignet zur Entwicklung solcher Mehrfarbenfilme mit Tonaufzeichnungsteilen, deren Kuppler in den Emulsionsschichten in Form von Lösungen in einem Kupplerlösungsmittel dispergiert sind. Es wurde gefunden, daß, wenn der den Ton aufweisende Teil des Filmes mit einer quaternären Ammoniumverbindung in Kontakt gebracht wird, noch bevor der Film farbentwickelt, gebleicht usw. ist, das im Silberbildteil gebildete Silber der Bleichbehandlung widersteht. Das heißt, es wird ermöglicht, daß das Silber der Tonspur während der anschließenden Behandlungen des gesamten Filmes erhalten und nicht angegriffen wird, wenn insbesondere das Silber der gegebenenfalls vorhandenen Filterschichten sowie des optischen Bildteiles des Farbfilmes ausgebleicht wird. Nach dem Verfahren der Erfindung wird somit lediglich der Tonspurteil des Farbfilmes einer besonderen Behandlung unterworfen, um dessen Silber zu erhalten bzw. um das übrige Silber selektiv entfernen zu können. Das Verfahren der Erfindung ermöglicht es, metallische Silbertonbilder in Farbfilmen zu erhalten, die Filterbzw. Lichthofschutzschichten von Silber in Gelatine enthalten, weil die Behandlung der Tonspurfläche mit der quaternären Ammoniumverbindung das Tonbildsilber unbleichbar macht.The method of the invention is particularly suitable for developing such multicolor films with sound recording parts, their couplers in the emulsion layers in the form of solutions in a coupler solvent are dispersed.
