Description
Luminaire that can be operated in several brightness levels with several Fluorescent lamps The invention relates to one in several levels of brightness Luminaire to be operated with fluorescent lamps, with one for brightness control inductive ballast several capacitors can be connected in parallel to each other are which in any combination to control the lamp current accordingly at least two brightness levels can be switched on.
The basic structure of such a circuit is described with reference to the drawing. The two phases 1 and 111 feed the entire circuit. Only the heating transformer 3 is fed in on one side via the conductor II, since it is mostly designed for 220 V, while the phase conductors I and 111 have a voltage of 380 V. However, other voltage values are of course also possible. The fluorescent lamp 1 is preceded by a normal 220 V choke coil 2 and this in turn is a capacitor C4 , which is larger than the capacitors C1, C23C. This capacitor C4 reduces the voltage applied to the capacitors C1, C2, C , so that it is possible to use capacitors with a comparatively low nominal voltage. Through the various combinations of a parallel connection of the capacitors C, 1 C21 C3 by means of the series switch 4, the brightness of the fluorescent lamp can be adjusted in seven stages, which is useful for practical use, e.g. B. in projection rooms is sufficient. When all capacitors C ″, C2, C are connected in parallel, the full luminous flux of the fluorescent lamp results, the circuit being capacitive.
If normally all lamps of a luminaire with several fluorescent lamps are connected to the brightness control circuit described, result low capacitive power factors within the entire control range of the circuit, which is known to be undesirable.
The object of the invention is in a luminaire of the type described an improvement in the power factor.
This is achieved according to the invention in that with two or Multi-lamp luminaires only for one lamp to operate them in several brightness levels said control circuit is provided, while the second lamp or the rest Lamps without brightness control directly in inductive circuit to the mains to be connected and can be switched on and off individually. In that the control circuit has a capacitive component, especially when it is controlled to full brightness and the other connected fluorescent lamps in inductive circuit to the Are connected to the mains, you can almost completely compensate for reactive current at full brightness achieve. By switching on the other fluorescent lamps separately there is a further increase in the number of brightness levels. Appropriately the other fluorescent lamps are switched on after the -over is fully switched on the control circuit operated fluorescent lamp one after the other.
