Es sind bereits Thierfallen bekannt, bei denen das eindringende Thier (Maus, Ratte oder ähnlicher Schädling) durch das Umkippen einer Brücke oder Wippe den Eingang verschliefst, dann aber das Einstellen der Falle für den weiteren Fang durch das gefangene Thier erfolgt. Bisher haben aber diese Einrichtungen nicht immer sicher gewirkt; durch die vorliegende Erfindung soll nun erreicht werden, dafs die Thierfalle vollständig selbstthätig und sicher¹ durch das gefangene Thier bedient wird und eine unfreiwillige Sperrung zu ihrer Einstellung nur eine ganz geringe Mühe erfordert.Animal traps are already known in which the invading animal (mouse, rat or similar pest) closes the entrance by overturning a bridge or seesaw, but then the trap is set for further catching by the trapped animal. In der hinteren Kammer befindet sich die Wippe e, welche mit ihrer entsprechend beschwerten Kante f auf den Boden des Kanals aufliegt, während die Kante f¹ frei schwebt. Das gefangene und von dem hellen Gang g angelockte Thier kriecht über die Wippe e hinüber nach diesem Gang hin und drückt hierbei das Ende f¹ der Wippe e hinab. Hierbei wird das Sperrstück I an seinem Arme Z² so bewegt, dafs der Arm Z² von der Wippe c hinweggezogen wird. Vermöge der Belastung kommt die Wippe c wieder in die in Fig. 1 dargestellte Stellung zurück. Ihre freie Kante berührt nahezu die Scheidewand d und schliefst dadurch die Eingangsöffnung zu dem Kanal vollständig ab, so dafs das gefangene Thier nicht mehr hinaus kann.As soon as the animal crawls into the channel of the trap and treads the rocker c up to the point of oscillation, it lowers and its front end touches the wall b.
