Zur Reinigung bzw. Filterung von Aquarienwasser wurden bisher die verschiedensten Materialien als Filtermedien, wie Kohle, Torf, Glaswatte u. a. m. — außer solchen keramischen Ursprungs — verwendet. Diese Filtermedien erwiesen sich jedoch insofern nachteilig, als sie erst nach einer gewissen Anlaufzeit, oft erst nach Tagen, sauber zu filtern imstande sind. Zur Desinfektion von Aquarienwasser und Bekämpfung von Fischparasiten bzw. -Krankheiten wurden bisher geeignete Salz und Farbstoffpräparate angewendet, wobei nicht gefiltert werden darf, soll das Desinfektionsmittel wirksam bleiben. Derartige Präparate haben sich jedoch in vielen Fällen entweder durch die Salzanreicherung im Aquarienwasser auf Fische und Pflanzen nachteilig ausgewirkt, oder die Farbstoffe unterbinden die Assimilation.For cleaning or filtering aquarium water, a wide variety of materials have been used as Filter media such as coal, peat, glass floss and others. m. - except those of ceramic origin - used. Es kommen hierfür vor allem geeignete Metalloxide in Frage, wie z. B. Silberoxid Ag20. Aber auch kolloidale Metalle oder in Wasser nur schwer lösliche chemische Stoffe können in Frage kommen, wenn sie die sogenannte oligodynamische Wirkung erzeugen, durch welche bei gezielter Dosierung die zu bekämpfenden, schädlichen Mikroorganismen (Parasiten, Protozoen, Bakterien, Blaualgen) vernichtet werden, ohne die Makroorganismen, wie Fische und Pflanzen, zu schädigen.According to the invention, the above-described deficiencies are now in a process in the aquarium filtration eliminated.
