Zweckmäßigerweise wird an das Mundstück der Strangpresse ein Rohr angeschlossen, das mit einem Vakuumanschluß versehen ist, um einen Unterdruck aufrechtzuerhalten, der in Richtung nach der Öffnung des Rohres abnimmt. Die Länge des Rohres muß entsprechend der Stärke der herzustellenden Schaumstoffisolierung oder Schaumstoffteile und der Fahrgeschwindigkeit bemessen werden. Vorteilhafterweise kann man das Rohr durch Ringblenden, insbesondere Irisblenden, die den herzustellenden Schaumstoffkörper nahezu umschließen, unterteilen.
