in gleichen Anteilen auftreten.
Cast iron objects that are exposed to the action of liquid metal, e.g.

namely the so-called burn-out and stress-related cracking.
The information in the literature on the best composition and structure of mold irons
are not uniform. But it has already been argued that a

In a satisfactory manner, we have succeeded in producing permanent molds that both prevent burnout
as well as being satisfactorily resistant to cracking.

Way by rapid cooling. During the production of the molds and other items
according to the invention, therefore, the cooling is accelerated on one side after casting.
This can e.g. B. done by the fact that after casting, the inner surface of the molds
cools quickly with harsh cooling means, while the outer surfaces are not cooled

To make it easier to achieve the desired structure, the

if the iron cools down faster than graphite, prevent
that an essentially pearlitic structure in the upper layer of the casting
arises. The opposite, slowly cooled side, on the other hand, receives a largely
ferritic structure and coarse graphite flakes. The mold is thereby on the inside
harder and more resistant to burnout. The ability to balance tensions,
is not lost here, however, since the mold material increases towards the outside
becomes softer and less susceptible to stress cracking.
