Der zum Festhalten des Damenhutes bestimmte Halter besteht aus zwei gleichen, aus
Cellaloid oder Horn gefertigten Theilen, welche im Innern des Hutes am äufsersten Rande mittels
der in dem Theile α befindlichen Löcher (Fig. ι und 2) angenäht werden, und zwei
kleinen Kämmen, welche rechts und links an den Enden sechs oder mehr Zinken.haben, während
das Mittelstück a° zinkenlos hergestellt ist. Soll nun der Halter in Tha'tigkeit treten,
so setzt man zunächst den Hut mit den bereits eingenähten Theilen α und b lose in der
gewünschten Weise auf den Kopf. Dadurch, dafs man nun die Kämme von oben gegen das Querstück d schiebt, wobei das Mittelstück
a° des Kammes sich oben fest gegen das Querstück d legt, während die Zinken

hinauf verlängert und wird finden, dafs der Ausgangspunkt des Theiles b um das Dreifache
seiner eigenen Breite weiter vorn liegt. Der Hut hat also einen festen Halt auf diese
ganze Breite vom Ausgangspunkt des Theiles b bis zu der Stelle, wo sich der Kamm befindet.
Um den Hut auch mit Leichtigkeit wieder abnehmen zu. können, sind die beiden Enden
