Description
Arrangement for reducing the additional losses in the space between the coil heads of synchronous generators - The invention relates to an arrangement for reducing the additional losses in the parts of synchronous generators lying outside the end faces of the stator core. These losses are known to be particularly troublesome in large two-pole turbo-generators. In order to reduce them, either a metal screen or a magnetic lamination has hitherto been attached to the pressure ring of the stator, or both rings made of metal of high electrical conductivity and rings made of laminated mechanical material have been used. However, the known arrangements have considerable disadvantages.
Diese Ströme verursachen also ihrerseits beträchtliche ohmsche Verluste.A metal screen acts in such a way that the leakage flux of the coil ends in the Metal screen induces currents. These cause an opposite direction in the metal screen magnetomotive force limiting the leakage flux. But since this one of a very high current generated in the coil heads and a relatively long air path too is to be bridged, very large currents in the metal shirin are required to reduce the leakage flux significant limit. These currents in turn cause considerable ones ohmic losses.
A magnetic lamination on the pressure rings is said to be in them limit eddy current losses due to the leakage flux of the coil ends. However, the lamination reduces the effective air path of the leakage flux, thereby the leakage flux becomes greater and results in greater losses in the coil heads.
The mentioned known combinations of a conductive metal sirin with a lamination have the drawback that they are in addition to high manufacturing costs no matter how great losses in the metal screens, that they are considerably reduced the efficiency.
The invention also uses a conductive metal screen at the same time and a lamination. According to the invention, however, the arrangement is designed so that the ring-shaped metal screen with great electrical conductivity on the inner part of the diaphragm ring of the stator and the annular body made of laminated magnetic material on the outer part of the pressure ring outside the metal sirin concentric to this and attached to it are attached.
With this arrangement, a greater reduction in losses is obtained than with the known arrangements. Since the outer lamination allows an alternative route for the leakage flux, a significantly smaller amount of current is required in the inner metal shield to prevent the flux from flowing through it. This reduces the ohmic losses in the metal channel. Since the lamination is placed slightly outside the rotor axis, the air path of the flow is lengthened so that the lamination cannot cause an increase in the leakage flux, which is the case when the lamination covers the entire pressure ring.
From a manufacturing point of view, lamination can be advantageous be designed as a ring made of magnetically oriented sheet metal strip.
The invention is described below with reference to the drawing, a section through part of a synchronous generator with the inventive Arrangement shows.
In the drawing, the rotor of the synchronous generator is denoted by 1 and its stator by 2. One of the coil ends of the stator is labeled 3 and the pressure ring that holds the stator bundle together is labeled 4. The metal screen attached to the inner part of the pressure ring is labeled 6 , and the lamination attached to the outer part of the pressure ring is labeled 5.
The stray flux from the coil head 3 flows partly through the copper screen 6 and partly through the lainellierung 5. The part of the flux which flows through the metal channel 6 induces eddy currents there. These currents cause an opposing magnetomotive force in the metal screen and thus a change in direction of the leakage flux from the metal screen to the lamination. The outer lamination 5 leaves an alternative path open for the leakage flux, the largest part of which flows through this lamination. This reduces the ohmic losses in the metal screen, because the flow through the screen, and thus also the eddy currents, become smaller. The lamination 5, to which the leakage flux is directed from the metal screen 6 , has a considerable distance from the rotor axis and the coil ends, so that the leakage flux and the coil head losses do not increase due to a shortened air path for the leakage flux.
