<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Stator for a single phase induction motor
The invention relates to a stator for a single-phase induction motor with two pole halves, each having at least five poles on the circumference of essentially the same length and essentially equidistant from one another, the first diametrically opposite poles of each pole half not being provided with a short-circuit winding and the last pole of each pole half is provided with a separate short-circuit turn while.
In each pole half a magnetic shunt is provided between the first pole, which is not provided with a short-circuit turn, of one pole-half and both the adjacent last and the second-to-last pole of the other pole half, in the latter case via the other side of the separate short-circuit turn facing away from the rotor, and all other poles of each pole half are provided with short-circuit windings that are directly connected to one another.
Such a stator is known from Austrian patent specification No. 104637 for achieving such a spatial and temporal phase shift of the pole fields that a practically symmetrical rotating field can be achieved, whereby speed changes and vibrations of the rotor can be reduced to a permissible minimum value, which is very important, for example, in drive motors for turntables and magnetic recorders.
The aforementioned known motor not only meets the last-mentioned requirements, but also the requirement of at least almost the same induction all around in the air gap between the stator poles and the rotor, in that the air gap between some stator poles and the rotor is larger than that of other poles.
It has been found that the freedom from vibration of the motor can be further improved if, according to the invention, the two magnetic shunts on both sides of the separate short-circuit windings are cut through by a narrow air gap.
This air gap preferably has a width of 0.03 to 2.5 mm.
In this way, a third requirement for achieving a circular rotating field is met,

circuits are connected to the unshielded poles, and the rotor is at least almost sinusoidal at each pole.
The invention is explained in more detail using the accompanying schematic drawing, for example.
Figs. 1 and 2 show a front or. Side view of a ten-pole stator; and FIG. 3 is a front view of such a jacket-type stator.
In FIG. 1, in which the stator is designated by 11 and the coil by 12, the stator poles 1-5 belong to one pole half 1 and the stator poles 6-10 to the other pole half II. The first two poles 1 and 1, which are diametrically opposite one another 6 of the pole halves. t and II are not shielded, while poles 2, 3 and 4 or 7, 8 and 9 are provided with short-circuit windings 13, 14 and 15 which are directly connected to one another. Special short-circuit turns 17 are provided on poles 5 and 10.
The condition that the spatial phase shift should be symmetrical is fulfilled by the embodiment shown in that the ten poles on the circumference are essentially of the same length
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
and are arranged at equal distances from one another. Each pole claims 36 on the circumference, so that the ten poles together cover the total circumference of 3600.
The condition for achieving a rotating field that is symmetrical in terms of the temporal phase shift between the various fields of poles 6-10 of pole half II (the same applies to the fields of poles 1-5 of pole half I) is also met by the following temporal phase shifts occurring (Since the ten poles also cover 3600 here, the field of each pole must be shifted in phase by 36 more than the field of a preceding pole) s

where <Xg naturally arises between the two unshielded poles 6 and 1 because these two poles are magnetically directly connected to the two ends of the coil 12.
The remaining phase shifts are achieved in a known manner through the use of the short-circuit turns 13, 14, 15 and 17 and through the correctly sized magnetic shunts 16 and 18 on both sides of the separate turns 17.
In order to generate the required magnetic resistance in these shunts, they are dimensioned so that the ferromagnetic material in the vicinity of the shunts is magnetically saturated.
However, it has been found that achieving saturation of any part of the magnetic circuit of the stator results in a non-negligible deviation from the desired circular rotating field, since the magnetic resistances in the shunts change with the value of the induction in these shunts.
This can be avoided by creating air gaps 19 and 20 in the shunts 16 and 18. for example in a width of 1 mm. because the magnetic resistance of an air gap is independent of the value of the induction. This also results in an at least almost sinusoidal course of the intensity of the induction in the air gap between poles 4 and 5 or
9 and 10 and the rotor.

They have poles of essentially the same length and arranged at regular intervals, the first two being mutually exclusive. diametrically opposite poles of each pole half are not provided with a short-circuit turn and the last pole of each pole half is provided with a separate short-circuit turn, and in each pole half a magnetic shunt between the first pole, which is not provided with a short-circuit turn, of one pole half and both the adjacent one last as well as that.
The penultimate pole of the other pole half is provided in the latter case on the other side of the separate short-circuit winding facing away from the rotor, while all other poles of each pole half are provided with directly interconnected short-circuit windings, characterized in that the two magnetic shunts on both sides of the separate Short-circuit turns are cut through by a narrow air gap.
