Description

  • Anwendung einer weichelastischen Platte aus geschäumtem Polystyrol Es ist bekannt, offenzellige Schaumkunststoffe zur Schalldämpfung zu verwenden und geschlossenzellige durch mechanische Öffnung der Zellen in ihrem Schallschluckvermögen zu verbessern. Bekannt ist auch, daß weichelastische Schaumstoffmatten mit geschlossenen Zellen Schall durch innere Energieverluste in den Schichten absorbieren.
  • Geschäumtes Polystyrol hat ebenfalls geschlossene Zellen, ist jedoch normalerweise starr. Die Erfindung liegt darin, eine Platte aus diesem Material, die mittels thermischer oder mechanischer Verfahren weichelastisch gemacht ist, als Schallschluckplatte anzuwenden. Bisher war die Verwendung solcher Platten auf den Wärme- bzw. Kälteschutz beschränkt. Schaumpolystyrol mit ungeöffneten Zellen galt bisher als ungeeignet für die Raumschalldämpfung. Dies ist jedoch ein Vorurteil. Tatsächlich lassen sich mit weichelastischen Schaumpolystyrolplatten günstige Schallschluckwerte erzielen.
  • Die Verwendung der bezeichneten Platte zur Raumschalldämpfung ist aber auch aus dem Grunde von Bedeutung, weil geschlossenzelliges Schaumpolystyrol gegen eindringende Luft- oder Kondensfeuchte, gegen Verschmutzung und Porenverschluß unempfindlich ist und Schwierigkeiten durch Schwund - wie bei anderen Schaumkunststoffen - praktisch nicht in Betracht kommen.
  • Damit steht eine Schallschluckplatte zur Verfügung, die auch in Industriebetrieben mit feuchtwarmer Raumluft, in Hallenbädern oder im Freien ohne Minderung eingesetzt werden kann, ohne daß seine akustischen Eigenschaften auf die Dauer gemindert werden.

  1. Patentanspruch: Anwendung einer Platte aus geschäumtem Polystyrol, die mittels thermischer oder mechanischer Verfahren weichelastisch gemacht ist, als Schallschluckplatte. In Betracht gezogene Druckschriften: Deutsche Patentschrift Nr. 915 033; »Kunststoffe«, Heft 11/1953, S. 448 bis 449.
