Eine solche Ausbildung der Fassung erleichtert bekanntlich das Auswechseln der Leuchtstofflampen. Der Kragen ragt bei der bekannten Anordnung nicht oder nur sehr wenig über die Außenwandung des Leuchtengehäuses heraus und hat den Zweck, das feste Fassungsteil zu dem Durchbruch zu zentrieren. Dann nehmen die Kragen alle etwa auftretenden Querkräfte auf, während die Kontaktstifte durch die Kragen und die entsprechenden Ausnehmungen des lösbaren Fassungsteils stets genau zentriert sind.
