Werkzeug, insbesondere Drehwerkzeug Die Erfindung betrifft Werkzeuge,
Tool, in particular turning tool The invention relates to tools,
in particular turning tools made from one or more fully sintered cutting metal bodies
and a metallic carrier cast thereon, the cutting metal body or bodies
with the anchoring ribs, recesses or the like. Are provided.
With the tools of this type as well as with tools with cast-in
Cutting bodies are the anchoring ribs, recesses and the like on the
Cutting body without taking into account the thermal stresses occurring during operation
or the shrinkage of the casting material when it cools. The ribs, recesses
or the like mostly run transversely to the direction of shrinkage. It is also with a tool
known with the cutting body sintered onto the shank, the receiving point of the holder
for the cutting insert to be provided with grooves running transversely to the longitudinal axis of the holder,
in which the cutting insert is anchored. However, with these known tools
both in their manufacture and in later operation there is a risk that
Cracks form as a result of the thermal stresses, which then destroys the tool
will, unless you would manufacture the carrier from a material, which about
has the same expansion coefficient as the cutting body. But one would come
then to a carrier material, which in terms of structure and consistency roughly defines the properties
of the cutting body. However, due to its material properties, such a carrier would be
especially its brittleness, completely unsuitable for this purpose.
The invention is based on the object of a connection of cutting bodies
and to create the carrier, the thermal stresses occurring between the cutting body and carrier
able to compensate without cracks occurring. This task is solved by
that in tools of the type mentioned, the ribs, recesses or the like.
run in the direction of shrinkage of the carrier. This arrangement of the ribs, recesses
or the like is advantageously a sliding of the carrier relative to the hard metal body
possible without impairing the anchorage.
While the shrinkage stresses by different expansion coefficients of the Schneidkörper- and carrier materials resulting not so much fall in cutting bodies of a relatively tough material and smaller dimension significant, but they are measuring ratios with other materials and waste to be considered. So, due to the demands of practice for cutting bodies with an ever higher stability and cutting speed, there are correspondingly more wear-resistant and thus also more brittle materials, such as. B. high titanium or tantalum-containing hard metals or oxide ceramics to use for the cutting body. The compensation of the shrinkage stresses provided by the invention, however, now allows these extremely brittle materials to be used as cutting bodies. You are also completely free in the selection of the carrier material, i. This means that its expansion coefficient does not have to be adapted to that of the cutting body material. Furthermore, the invention readily allows the production of tools even of larger dimensions, since the shrinkages occurring in this case are also compensated to a greater extent.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. It shows F i g. 1 shows a diagrammatic representation of a turning tool constructed according to the invention and consisting of a cutting body and carrier, FIG . 2 shows a longitudinal section through the cutting body along the line 11-11 of FIG . 1.
The carrier 1 of the tool is cast onto the cutting body 2 under pressure. In the cutting body 2 there are recesses 3 which run in the direction of the shrinkage center 4 of the carrier 1 . Of course, these recesses could also have a different shape than the one shown.
Furthermore, the cutting body can also have a recess 5 , which is used to lock it in relation to the carrier. Nevertheless, due to the recesses 3 running in the direction of the shrinkage center, the carrier can slide relative to the cutting body. In addition, the outer shape of the cutting body 2 has been selected here in such a way that it adapts to the direction of shrinkage of the carrier.
