Der Erfinder versieht die Lampe oder einen Theil derselben mit einem äufseren Behälter von Glas oder anderem durchsichtigen Material. Die auf den Ring e aufgeschraubte Kopfplatte e¹ besitzt eine entsprechende eingedrehte Rinne und ist f ein dazwischen gelegter Gummiring zur Dichtung dieser Verbindung gegen das Eindringen der Flüssigkeit. Diese steht im Behälter α etwas höher als die Unterkante des Kopfes e¹, so dafs das Eindringen der äufseren Luft in die Lampe oder den inneren Behälter b somit ganz vermieden ist. Die Röhre g ist unten mit der Kopfplatte e¹ und oben mit dem Bügel h zum Aufhängen der Lampe verbunden, i ist eine die Kohlenstange aufnehmende Röhre, k ist die positive Klemmschraube und m die negative.
