Description
Radiation protection windows with liquid filling They are known to be There are spaces with protective liquid between the panes of radiation protection windows or immersion filled. As the standing fill liquid through over time chemical decomposition is clouded and a precipitate on the glass surfaces forms, which is promoted in particular by the action of irradiation it is necessary to empty the gaps from time to time, to clean the panes and renew the fluid. These works in which the entire window must be removed and dismantled, are very cumbersome and time consuming and require extensive measures and facilities for their implementation. One tried the liquid from time to time by an externally operated agitator Time to overturn. However, this measure can only be seen as a makeshift measure Do not prevent from time to time the liquid is drained and completely needs to be renewed. In addition, stirring from the outside is only possible if the spaces in between are large and easily accessible. But this is at Protective windows, which consist of several lead glass panes, are not the case.
The present invention overcomes these difficulties and disadvantages in that the liquid between the discs in a pump driven Circuit is included, whereby the liquid, optionally with the interposition a filter, is circulated or renewed. According to the invention are with protective windows with several fluid-filled spaces, these spaces are connected in series in a circuit.
The above measures are relatively easy to use achieved that a clouding of the filling liquid or a deposit on the discs is avoided, so that the awkward cleaning work mentioned with their disadvantageous accompanying circumstances do not apply. In the said cycle are normally all fluid spaces included. However, it is also conceivable that the liquid of the to circulate individual spaces each for itself, by the fact that the spaces in between individually connected to the liquid circuit and can therefore be switched on and off individually are.
Exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing. It shows Fig. 1 a longitudinal section through a protective window with a single liquid space, 2 shows a longitudinal section through a protective window with several liquid spaces.
The protective window according to FIG. 1 consists essentially of the frame 1 and the glass panes 2 and 3 used in this frame using the known sealing means. B. zinc bromide solution filled. In the hot area of the window, the lowest point of the space 4 is connected to a suction line 5, which leads to the pump 8 via a filter 6 and a line 7. The circuit is closed by the pressure line 9 and the connection line 10, the latter opening into the space 4 directly behind the disk 3 from above. On the pressure side, a multi-way valve 12 is built into the circuit, to which, in addition to the lines 9 and 10 , a line 14 coming from the storage container 13 and a drain line 15 are connected. By actuating the rotary valve 16, it is possible to control the fluid circuit in accordance with the intended measures.
In the drawn position of the rotary valve 16, there is a revolution the liquid in the space 4 instead, with a cleaning by the filter at the same time he follows. If the liquid volume is to be renewed, then according to Rotation of the slide 16 sucks the liquid out of the space 4 via 5, 7, 8, 9 and fed to the discharge line 15. After the room 4 has been completely emptied, the rotary valve becomes 16 twisted so that now the line 14 is connected to the line 10, so that from the container 13 clean liquid can flow into the space 4.
The example according to FIG. 2 relates to a protective window with lead glass panes 18, 19, 20 and two outer disks 21, 22. In such an arrangement are known the panes inserted into the frame 23 so that that gaps 24, 25, 26, 27 arise, which for optical reasons are filled with immersion liquid are. In order to circulate or renew the liquid in such windows, are the interstices through channels or lines with one another and via the pump 8 switched into a circuit, which is in the hot area of the window, i.e. in the room 24, begins at the bottom and leads to the pump 8 via the suction line 28. The one on the Liquid conveyed on the pressure side is first via line 29 and channel 30 the room 27 and from there via the line 31 to the room 26 and further via the line 32 to space 25 and finally through channel 33 to space 24 from above. The circulation of the liquid thus takes place in accordance with that shown in FIG Direction arrows.
When using the means shown in Fig.1 can also in the example According to Figure 2, the circulated liquid can be filtered or drained and renewed. In addition, the arrangement of the connecting lines with the interposition of corresponding Reversing devices are also made so that the liquid filling each Room can be individually circulated or drained and renewed. The in Fig. 1 and 2 parts arranged outside the protective window, such as filters, lines, etc., are expediently installed in an area where they do not interfere with observation. In the case of large windows, it may also be possible to keep the parts mentioned inside of the space between the panes in side niches.
