In letzter Zeit sind verschiedene Verfahren zur Desinfektion unter Anwendung von Formaldehyddämpfen bekannt geworden. Alle diese Verfahren haben den Nachtheil, nur eine Oberflächendesinfektion zu bewirken und besonders Massen organischer Natur, wie Sputum, Eitermassen u. s. w., deren Desinfektion besonders höchst wichtig wäre, ungenügend zu durchdringen. Der Grund dieser Erscheinung liegt darin, dafs Formaldehyd Eiweifs coagulirt und also gleich im Anfang der Desinfektion die periphere Schicht eiweifshaltiger Massen in eine undurchlässige Hülle verwandelt.Recently, various methods of disinfection using formaldehyde vapors have emerged known.
