Description
The invention relates to a headlight lens for a motor vehicle headlight and to a method for producing a headlight lens consisting essentially of glass for a motor vehicle headlight.
It is desirable to solve the problem mentioned above in such a way that the costs for a headlight lens for a motor vehicle headlight do not increase significantly.
The aforementioned object is achieved by a headlamp lens for a vehicle headlamp with a light source, in particular for a motor vehicle headlamp, wherein the headlamp lens comprises a transparent lens body made of glass, which comprises a surface facing the light source and a surface to be averted from the light source, and wherein at least the averted to the light source Surface comprises a layer which comprises an aluminum concentration which is greater than an aluminum concentration in the interior of the lens body, and / or which comprises a sodium concentration which is smaller than a sodium concentration in the interior of the lens body. In this case, the surface to be averted from the light source is in particular convexly curved and / or the surface to be turned towards the light source is in particular substantially planar. Alternatively, the aforementioned object is achieved by a headlight lens for a vehicle headlight, in particular for a motor vehicle headlight, the headlight lens comprising a transparent lens body made of glass, which has a substantially planar surface and a convexly curved surface, and wherein at least the convex curved surface is a layer which comprises an aluminum concentration which is greater than an aluminum concentration in the interior of the lens body and / or which comprises a sodium concentration which is less than a sodium concentration in the interior of the lens body. The thickness of the layer is advantageously approximately between 50 nm and 300 nm.
In one embodiment of the invention, the headlight lens is at least one side bare-pressed Here, in particular at least the surface to be averted from the light source or convexly curved surface is bright-pressed. Advantageously, the headlight lens is pressed brightly on both sides. For the purposes of the invention, blank presses are to be understood as meaning, in particular, such pressing of a headlight lens that post-processing of an optically effective surface of the headlight lens, in particular its contour, can be dispensed with after pressing.
