BEKANNTMACHUNG DER ANMELDUNG UNDAUSGABE DER AUSLEGESCHRIFT:NOTICE THE REGISTRATION AND ISSUE OF EDITORIAL:
7. SEPTEMBER 1961SEPTEMBER 7, 1961
Main patent application A21128VI / 40b relates to a lead-antimony alloy for the grid of the plates of electrical accumulators with 5 to 11%, preferably 5 to 8% antimony, which is characterized in that it contains 0.075 to Contains 0.1% arsenic, 0.04 to 0.12% copper, the remainder lead. This alloy exhibits opposite to the normal Hard lead alloys have a particularly high corrosion resistance in addition to sufficient hardness and Firmness on. It could be proven that this alloy works with electric accumulators, especially if it is used for the production of the positive plates, to an essential one leads to a higher discharge number of the accumulators than with the alloys used in the past the grid of the plates has been reached.
However, there are certain areas of application in which an arsenic content of more than 0.075% possibly leads to the formation of arsenic-hydrogen in the gassing of the accumulator. It is known, that arsenic-hydrogen is an extraordinarily poisonous gas, which even in relatively small quantities can be harmful to health, even fatal. In general, the air exchange is in battery rooms or in the usual locations the batteries are so large that never a fatal or harmful concentration can occur. But there are special areas of application, e.g. B. as submarine accumulators or stationary batteries that are permanently charged, such as telephone batteries, which are housed in particularly narrow spaces and in which an enrichment of harmful arsenic-hydrogen would be conceivable.
It could be proven that the addition of 0.04 to 0.12% copper to the binary Hard lead alloy brings about a significant increase in corrosion resistance, but this effect occurs not always evenly. Surprisingly, it was found that the addition of the smallest Amounts of arsenic in the order of 0.01 to less than 0.075%, preferably 0.03% stabilizing effect of the addition of copper always ensures, so that an addition of 0.075% arsenic and about it is not absolutely necessary.
According to the invention, it should therefore be used in particular for permanently charged rooms and in non-ventilated rooms The accumulators in the alloy for the grids of the plates at contents of 5 to 11%, preferably 5 to 8% antimony, 0.01 to less than 0.075% arsenic, 0.04 to 0.12% copper, the remainder lead contain.

If the alloy is resistant to corrosion, it also occurs if the DIN 1728 sheet is below Number 4 in the heading Collector hard lead 9 for admixtures considered permissible in the alloy are.
If an even greater corrosion resistance of the alloy is important, then the Hard lead alloy, in addition to the small amounts of arsenic and copper, also contains 0.01 to 1% silver will. As a result, the overall corrosion resistance can be increased even further, so that with of the alloy according to the main patent application are exceeded.
Da außerdem Kupfer in der Hartbleilegierung schlecht löslich ist, ergibt sich eine bezüglich ihrer KorrosionsfestigkeitYou can change the amount of copper added when adding silver. The higher the percentage of added silver, the lower the copper content needs to be selected. The most favorable weight ratio of the alloy components copper and silver is between 1: 2 and 1: 4. The improvement the corrosion resistance with an addition of more than 0.2% silver is only low. Since also Copper is poorly soluble in the hard lead alloy, there is a result with regard to its corrosion resistance
