Elektro-Metallspritzpistole
Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine konstruktive
Weiterbildung von Elektro-Metallspritzpistolen, bei
deren Betrieb zwei stromführende Drähte ständig vor-
geschoben und an ihren Enden kurzgeschlossen werden,
so daß die Drahtenden im elektrischen Lichtbogen
schmelzen und das geschmolzene Metall mittels eines
Gasstromes, insbesondere eines Preßluftstromes, auf
das zu bespritzende Werkstück geschleudert wird.
Bei einer bekannten und bewährten Ausführungs-
form solcher Spritzpistolen verlaufen die zum Kurz-
schlußpunkt vorgeschobenen Drähte in einem Winkel
zueinander durch Düsen, die in gegeneinander isolier-
ten Gehäuseteilen angeordnet sind. In der Betriebs-
stellung der Pistole befinden sich die isoliert eingesetz-
ten Drahtführungsdüsen übereinander, so daß treffend
von einer oberen und unteren Düse gesprochen werden
kann. Bei den bisherigen Konstruktionen wird der für
den Transport der abschmelzenden Metallteile auf das
Werkstück erforderliche Preßluftstrom im wesentlichen
durch konzentrisch um die Achse der unteren Düse
angeordnete Luftkanäle geleitet.
In der Praxis haben sich bei solchen Anordnungen
jedoch Schwierigkeiten ergeben, weil es nicht gelingt,
ständig einen Preßluftstrahl zu erzeugen, bei dem der
Lichtbogen einwandfrei zündet und ohne Störungen
brennt und bei dem eine gleichmäßige Gestaltung des
Spritzkegels, insbesondere ein möglichst konzentrier-
ter Spritzkegel, gewährleistet ist, zumal gleichzeitig
beide Drähte verspritzt werden.
Die Erfindung zeigt einen Weg, auf dem es möglich
ist, die oben angegebenen Schwierigkeiten durch kon-
#;truktiv einfache Maßnahmen zu beseitigen.
Gemäß der Erfindung sind bei einer Elektro-
Metallspritzpistole, bei deren Betrieb zwei strom-
führende Drähte von etwa 2 mm Durchmesser ständig
durch getrennte, übereinander befindliche Drahtfüh-
r ungsdüsen hindurch vorgeschoben und an ihren Enden
kurzgeschlossen werden, so daß die Drahtenden
schmelzen und das- geschmolzene Metall mittels eines
Gasstromes, insbesondere Luftstromes, auf die zu
bespritzenden Oberflächen geschleudert wird, wobei
konzentrisch um die Achse der unteren Düse angeord-
nete Luftkanäle für die Bildung eines Gas- bzw. Luft-
kegels sorgen, weitere, im wesentlichen gleichfalls
konzentrisch um die Achse der unteren Düse angeord-
nete Luftkanäle zur Bildung eines Luftmantels vor-
gesehen.
Weitere Einzelheiten der Erfindung ergeben sich
aus der nachfolgenden Erläuterung des in der Zeich-
nung dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiels.
Fi,g. 1 zeigt, teilweise im Schnitt, eine Metallspritz-
pistole nach der Erfindung;
Fig. 2 und 3 sind Vorderansichten des unteren und
des oberen Düsensystems einer solchen Spritzpistole.
Wie schon oben erwähnt wurde, ist es bereits
bekannt, den Hauptstrom der Preßluft zur Wegbeför-
derung der abschmelzenden Metalltropfen an beiden
Drahtenden nur konzentrisch um den untengelegenen
Draht zu führen, und zwar durch einen geschlossenen
Kranz von Luftkanälen, der den unteren Draht um-
gibt. Um eine Störung des Luftkegels durch das Ende
des oberen Drahtes zu verhindern, hat es sich als
zweckmäßig erwiesen, die konzentrisch um den
unteren Draht angeordneten Luftkanäle auf einem
Kreis vorzusehen, dessen Durchmesser höchstens 6 mm,
vorzugsweise aber nur 4,5 mm, beträgt. Bis zu diesen
Durchmessern ist es möglich, einen geschlossenen
Kranz von Luftkanälen anzubringen, ohne daß eine
Störung der Luftströmungen während des Betriebes
durch den oberen Draht eintritt. Dabei ist darauf zu
achten, daß die Zahl der Luftkanäle ausreichend ist,
um einen geschlossenen Luftkegel entstehen zu lassen.
Die Bohrungen für den Luftaustritt, die in Fig.1
bei 1 angedeutet sind und in Fig.2 die gleiche Be-
zeichnung tragen, sind in einem Winkel zur Achse
des unteren Drahtes 2 in Richtung zum Kurzschluß-
punkt geneigt, und zwar derart, daß der Luftkegel
in einer Entfernung von. 3 bis 10 mm hinter dem
Kurzschlußpunkt 3 seine Spitze hat. Durch die in
dieser Weise entstehende -Sogwirkung werden die ab-
schmelzenden Metalltropfen in den Schnittpunkt des
Kegels gezogen und dort zur erforderlichen Feinheit
zerstäubt. Der Neigungswinkel der Luftführüngs-
kanäle 1 wird somit durch den Luftkanaldurchmesser
und den Abstand vom Düsenende bestimmt.
Nach der Erfindung wird nun eine wesentliche Ver-
besserung des Spritzstrahles dadurch erzielt, daß um
den durch den Kranz der Luftkanäle 1 erzeugten Luft-
kegel ein weiterer Luftmantel gelegt wird, wie bereits
im deutschen Patent 851 708 für eine Spritzpistole
angegeben, bei welcher beide Drähte gemeinsam durch
eine Düsenöffnung laufen. Für Spritzpistolen mit zwei
getrennt geführten Drähten und während des Be-
triebes übereinanderliegenden Düsensystemen, uni-die
es sich bei der Erfindung handelt, hat sich-die nach-
stehend beschriebene Ausführungsform der Düse zur
Erzeugung des zweiten Luftmantels als besonders
zweckmäßig erwiesen.
Die Bohrungen für den äußeren Luftmantel werden
bei Spritzpistolen nach der Erfindung auf einem Kreis
angeordnet, der einen Durchmesser von etwa 12 bis
14 mm aufweist; die Anordnung erfolgt ebenfalls
konzentrisch um die Achse der unteren Düse, und
zwar vorzugsweise parallel zu dieser Achse. Der
äußere Kranz ist in den Fig. 1 und 2 bei 4 gezeigt.
Um zu verhindern, daß durch den .in den -Luftstrom
des äußeren Luftmantels hineinreichenden oberen
Spritzdraht 5 Luft- oder Gaswirbel entstehen, die ein
Streuen der Metallteilchen zur Folge haben, ist der
Kranz 4 der Luftkanäle am oberen Scheitelpunkt der
Düse in einem Winkel von etwa 15° zu beiden Seiten
der Senkrechten unterbrochen, d. h., dieser Winkel-
bereich ist frei von Kanälen. Es kann für die dadurch
ausfallende Luftmenge ein Ausgleich geschaffen
werden, wenn die beiden am Rand des unterbrochenen
Luftkanalkranzes liegenden Bohrungen 4a und 4b
etwas größer als die übrigen Bohrungen ausgeführt
sind. Die Bohrungen 4a, 4b können beispielsweise um
ein Drittel größer sein als die übrigen Bohrungen. Da-
durch wird erreicht, daß die zunächst enggebündelten
Einzelluftströme nach dem Passieren des oberen
Drahtes den Luftmantel praktisch wieder schließen.
Naturgemäß darf auch bei der Bildung des äußeren
Luftmantels der Abstand zwischen den einzelnen
Bohrungen 4 nicht größer gewählt werden, als es für
die Erzielung eines geschlossenen Luftmantels not-
wendig ist. Für die Bohrungen 4a, 4 b kommt beispiels-
weise ein Durchmesser von 1,2 mm in Betracht, wäh-
rend die übrigen zehn Bohrungen 4 einen Durchmesser
von 0,9 mm aufweisen.
Die obere Düse 8 weist nur am oberen Scheitel
bei 6 einige, z. B. zwei bis drei Luftkanäle auf, wie es
die in Fig.3 dargestellte Vorderansicht der oberen
Düse besonders deutlich erkennen läßt. Der Durchfluß
einer bestimmten Luftmenge durch das obere Düsen-
system hat sich zur Kühlung von Draht und Düse als
erforderlich erwiesen. Die Luftkanäle 6 sind so an-
gebracht, daß der Luftstrom vorzugsweise parallel zur
Achse des unteren Drahtes 2 austritt, sie kann aller-
dings auch schwach nach unten geneigt sein. Durch
diese Anordnung der Luftkanäle 6 wird die Wirkung
des äußeren Luftmantels um den unteren Draht wirk-
sam unterstützt. Einerseits wird nämlich die Unter-
brechung am oberen Scheitel noch wirksamer ge-
schlossen, vor allem aber verhindert dieser zusätzliche
Luftstrom ein Ausbrechen von abschmelzenden Metall-
teilchen vom oberen Draht nach oben, der nicht bis in
den inneren Luftmantel des unteren Düsensystems
hineinreicht.
Die in Fig.1 dargestellte Spritzpfstofe zeigt in
bezug auf das Gehäuse. eine an sich bekannte Bauart,
bei der das Pistolengehäuse in zwei gegeneinander
isolierte Hälften aufgeteilt ist, wobei eine beispiels-
weise aus Kunststoff bestehende Platte 7 für die Iso-
lierung der beiden Gehäusehälften sorgt und zweck-
mäßig 3 bis 5 mm über die Außenoberfläche des Ge-
häuses hinausragt, um die Kriechwege zu vergrößern.
Dabei empfiehlt es sich, die hervorstehenden Ränder
mit scharten Kanten zu versehen, so daß beim bloßen
Abwischen des Pistolengehäuses etwaige leitende
Schichten auf den Rändern der Isolierplatte unter-
brochen werden.
Die dbere-und die untere Führungsdüse 8, 9 sind an
sich in. bekannter Weise vom metallischen Gehäuse
isoliert angebracht, um einen Stromübergang auf die
Spritzdrähte an diesen Stellen zu verhindern. Bei der
Spritzpistole nach der Erfindung werden beide Düsen-
systeme insgesamt aus Metall hergestellt und die ge-
schlossenen. Systeme unter Zwischenlegen von Isolier-
scheiben 10 und 1.1 auf die Vorderplatten 12 und 13
der Gehäusehälften der Pistole aufgesetzt. Um einer-
seits die Verschleißfestigkeit der Düsen so hoch wie
möglich zu halten und um andererseits die Herstellung
der Systeme zu erleichtern, werden die Düsensysteme
mehrteilig ausgeführt. Bei der oberen Düse wird das
Außenteil-14 mit den -Luftkanälen 6 für die Luft-
führung aus einem leicht bearbeitbaren Metall, bei-
spielsweise aus gewöhnlichem Stahl, gefertigt, und nur
die-einfachen, leichtauswechselbaren, z. B. verschraub-
baren Führungsdüsen 8 aus. Hartmetall oder gehärte-
tem Material werden ohne uftkanäle hergestellt.
Das untere-Düsensystem besteht aus einem G.°häuse
15 mit dem äußeren Kränz von Luftkanälen 4, eben-
falls aus einem leicht bearheitlaren Material, während
das auswechselbare, verschleißfeste Innentei19 die
eigentliche Führungsbuchse darstellt, die im gezeigten
Ausführungsbeispiel gleichzeitig die Bohrungen 1. für
den inneren Luftkegel enthält.
Wie bereits vorgeschlagen worden ist, kommt es
darauf an, die Entfernung vom Düsenende bis zum
Kurzschlußpunkt entsprechend zu wählen. Dabei muß
der Forderung nach genauer Drahtführung bis zum
Kurzschlußpunl@t und möglichst geringem Abstand
zwecks Erzielung eines -ausreichenden Berührungs-
druckes zur Einleitung des Lichtbogens beim Zünd-
vorgang entsprochen werden. Andererseits muß aber
ein genügend großer Abstand vorhanden sein mit
Rücksicht auf die thermische Beanspruchung. Es hat
sich bereits bei bekannten Elektro-Metallspritzpistolen
gezeigt, daß zwischen den Düsenenden und dem Kurz-
schlußpunkt eine Strecke von 10 bis 12 mm liegen
muß.
Obwohl beim Betrieb der Elektro-Metallspritz-
pistole nur Spannungen von 25 bis 50 Volt auftreten,
hat sich gezeigt, daß die Abstände zwischen beiden
Düsensystemen nach anderen Gesichtspunkten fest-
gelegt werden müssen: Einerseits sinkt die Durch-
schlagsfestigkeit der Luft beim Betrieb der Pistole
durch starke Anreicherung mit Ionen außerordentlich
stark ab, andererseits können beim stoßartigen Ein-
schalten des Lichtbogenströmes; der bis 500 Ampere
betragen kann, relativ hohe Spannungen induziert
werden, die in der Lage sind, größere, auch nicht
nennenswert vorionisierte Luftströme zu durchschlagen
und damit einen Lichtbogen einzuleiten, der nach-
haltige Zerstörungen an den Düsensystemen zur Folge
haben kann. Aus diesen Gründen sind die Düsen-
systeme bei Spritzpistolen nach der Erfindung so auf-
gebaut, daß sie sich zum Kurzschlußpunkt hin stark
verjüngen und daß an keiner Stelle zwischen den
beiden Düsensystemen Abstände vorhanden sind, die
geringer als etwa. 7 bis 8 mm sind. Um die Über-
schlagsgefahr zwischen den Düsensystemen weiter zu
vermindern, müssen alle Ränder der Düsen in an sich
bekannter Weise sorgfältig abgerundet sein.
