Besonders bei Sohaltgeräten sind im allgemeinen Druckknopfschalter gebräuchlich, bei denen für die Einschaltung grüne oder irgendeine andere Farbe außer Rot gewählt ist, während für den »Aus«- Druckknopf ausschließlich die rote Farbe Anwendung findet. In vielen Fällen ist jedoch eine solche Anzeige des Schaltzustandes des von den Druckknöpfen gesteuerten Schalters nicht ausreichend, sondern eine Rückmeldung bzw. Wegen des mitunter irreführenden Nebeneinanders gegensätzlicher Farbhinweise für die Kennzeichnung der Betätigungselemente einerseits und ihrer Schalteffekte andererseits und vor allem zwecks Einsparung der Lampen aus Platzgründen ist man bereits seit einigen Jahren dazu übergegangen, die Tasten selbst beleuchtbar auszubilden. Dies erfolgt derart, daß nach Betätigung ein Leuchttaster in seiner Farbe, d. h. entweder Grün oder Rot, aufleuchtet.
