Diese Anordnung bietet den Vortheil, dafs bei geringem Gewicht die Oberfläche des Bremscylinders sehr grofs ist, wodurch die passiven Widerstände des Motors sich verringern, und ermöglicht aufserdem in einfacher Weise die Regelung der Bremskraft des Bremscylinders C, da diese um so gröfser ist, je mehr der letztere zwischen die Pole der Magnete α eingreift. Um diese Bremskraft je nach der Stärke der Magnete genau bemessen zu können, sind sämmtliche Magnete a an einem gemeinschaftlichen, centrisch zu der den unteren Lagerstein der Motorspindel enthaltenden Hohlspindel F angeordneten Träger angebracht, welcher mittelst einer Schraube oder Zahnstange gehoben oder gesenkt werden kann.
