Description
Process for the production of matted or containing colored pigments Polyamides The invention relates to a process for the production of polyamides, the matting agents or
Farbpigmente in sehr gleichmäßiger Verteilung enthalten.Contains color pigments in a very even distribution.
It is known that polyamide structures can be produced by adding titanium dioxide and carbon black or to refine color pigments, e.g. B. with titanium dioxide in very small quantities (up to maximum 0.05 ° l0). The titanium dioxide is generally used as an aqueous suspension (Titanium milk) added. This results in non-matt threads or fibers. trouble when adding titanium dioxide to the spinning mass, with regard to the distribution of the pigment in the polycondensate do not occur after this process. However, if relatively large Quantities of titanium dioxide to be incorporated into the high polymer substances succeed even distribution is incomplete. It was also proposed that the To carry out matting of polyamides with pigments so that the lumpy spun material mixed with finely divided matting agents or pigments until uniform Distribution on the surface of the spun material is achieved, whereupon these mixtures are processed further into threads in melt spinning.
However, with regard to the addition of titanium dioxide to the monomers great difficulties in that the aqueous solution of the monomers on the Titanium dioxide suspension acts as an electrolyte. The titanium dioxide flocculates, so that a larger part of the titanium dioxide during the condensation on the The bottom of the autoclave settles. This inevitably results in an uneven distribution of titanium dioxide on. This phenomenon is mainly related to the production of polyamides Diamines and dicarboxylic acids or their salts can be observed because they are stronger Electrolytes as, for example, aminocarboxylic acids or lactams. In the preparation of of polyamides from aminocarboxylic acids or lactams (especially caprolactam) the described flocculation effect of titanium dioxide is only observed particularly strongly when if you add other electrolytes to the starting products, such as manganese acetate or copper acetate, which has been added against the harmful effects of light and heat one e.g.
Die Verteilung des Titandioxyds ergab: Am Anfang des Polyamidbandes 3,8°lo TiO2.Polyamides made from dicarboxylic acids and diamines with a titanium dioxide content of 201 wants to produce, one obtains a very uneven distribution of titanium dioxide. This unevenness can, for example can be determined on a manufactured polyamide tape. The distribution of titanium dioxide resulted in: At the beginning of the polyamide tape 3.8 ° lo TiO2.
Mitte des Polyamidbandes l,4°/o TiO2. Middle of the polyamide tape 1.4% TiO2.
Am Ende des Polyamidbandes 0,8 0/o TiO2. At the end of the polyamide tape 0.8% TiO2.
This uneven distribution of the pigments applies for example too with the addition of carbon black or color pigments such as phthalocyanine.
It has been found that matted or containing colored pigments can be used Polyamides with a uniform pigment distribution are obtained if the monomers, which contain the pigment to be dispersed, with a small amount of aluminum phosphate added, whereupon this mixture is polycondensed in the usual way. One can here aluminum phosphate in amounts that are 0.5 to 300/0, preferably 1 to 100/0, correspond to the amount of matting agent or color pigment used, use. The method is particularly suitable for the production of matted Polyamides, titanium dioxide being used as matting agent. But when Color pigments should be dispersed in the polyamide so that a fine, uniform This method is also suitable for this purpose. It is advantageous to use an aluminum phosphate which is made from before its use an aluminum salt with sodium phosphate was freshly precipitated. The addition of the aluminum phosphate is possible in various ways. You can use the aluminum phosphate of the aqueous solution add the monomers which the pigment contains in solid form. However, it is advantageous to use the aluminum phosphate as an aqueous suspension as the starting materials to add. The required amount of aluminum phosphate depends on the amount of the added pigment and its own dispersibility. As monomers for polyamide production can either be lactams, especially caprolactam, Aminocarboxylic acids or salts formed from diamines and dicarboxylic acids, e.g. Hexamethylene diamine adipate can be used. In the manufacture of, for example deep matt polyamides, in which 2% titanium dioxide, based on the polyamide, should be included, for example 0.02 to 0.2 01o aluminum phosphate, based on the amount of polyamide to be added to the monomers.
A polyamide tape is then obtained after the polycondensation, which continuously, i.e. at the beginning as well as in the middle and at the end of the tape, has a constant titanium dioxide content of 20 / o.
If a more detailed matting is desired, this should be done accordingly less titanium dioxide is used.
