Description
DEUTSCHESGERMAN
It is known to manufacture rod antennas from metal tubes. It turned out, however, that these rod antennas, which are generally permanently mounted on buildings under moderate climatic conditions had a sufficient lifespan when used on seagoing vessels due to constant use broke off after a relatively short time due to the wind and the movement of the hull. The antennas, which are also still in use and consist of thin elastic metal rods, are in many Areas and especially at sea because of the small radius of curvature of the conductor occurring disruptive discharge phenomena unusable.
A rod antenna surrounded by an insulating protective sheath is known, which consists of a rope braided wires, the thickness of which increases in the direction of the base of the antenna, so that the elasticity of the antenna increases from bottom to top. The manufacture of such an antenna is due to the complicated structure of the conductive parts cumbersome and expensive.
Rod antennas have also become known which contain a straight or coiled single conductor, which is enclosed by elastic insulating material. The protective cover can be made of glass fiber layers be reinforced. The use of a single wire as the antenna element brings however, it has various electrical and mechanical disadvantages. In particular, the danger is one The breakage due to alternating stress is particularly large in a single wire.
The invention relates to a rod antenna consisting of a conical tube made of glass fiber fabric, which is impregnated with a plastic and contains an electrical conductor, and is characterized by that the antenna conductor is inserted into the fiber fabric tube as a layer conductor or surface conductor is. The antenna constructed according to the invention has one compared to the known rod antennas longer service life and lower weight. The shift conductor or surface conductor can also be in greater distance from the center line of the rod antenna. One embodiment the invention provides for the inner cavity of the tube to be coated with conductive varnish. Another possibility The conductor arrangement consists in inserting a layer of copper mesh between the glass fiber layers. It is useful to have a so-called at the tip of the rod in a manner known per se To attach rattle protection body.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the figures.

The antenna rod 1, which has the shape of a conical tube, consists of glass fiber fabric 2, which is brought into the appropriate shape by being wound on a mandrel. The fiberglass fabric 2 is covered with a plastic, for. B. Phenolic resin Ultramid, soaked and baked. For example, a layer of copper fabric 4 inserted into the glass fiber fabric 2 near the inner cavity 3 serves as the antenna conductor. However, it is also possible to coat the walls of the inner cavity 3 with conductive varnish.
Fig. 2 shows an overall view of a rod antenna according to the invention. The antenna conductor 1 is inserted into a base insulator 5, for example made of injection-molded polyamide B, and is fixed by gluing. A pierced bolt 6, which is soldered to a pigtail 7, is used to connect the antenna conductor. At the tip of the antenna rod 1, a rattle protection body 8, which can have the shape of a sphere or an ellipsoid, is attached. The rattle protection body 8j, which is shown cut open in FIG. 2, expediently consists of two hemispheres made of sheet metal, which are soldered to one another and to the antenna conductor 4 exposed at the tip. The base point insulator 5 can also contain an antenna transmitter in its inner cavity. As a result of its light weight, the antenna according to the invention has little tendency to bend. On the other hand, the great elasticity of the material ensures a long service life. The antenna conductor is completely protected against corrosion by the outer covering.
