Description
The main patent relates to a process for coating seeds from sugar beet and fodder beet, Onions, carrots, cabbage, grasses, etc. The main purpose of such a coating of the seeds is a uniform Calibration and possibly an enlargement of the seeds or fruits to achieve thereby a to achieve better sowing ability of the seeds and thus savings in seeds and labor. In the unpublished interpretation of the main patent, it has already been stated that the enveloping compounds or the carrier liquids in most cases the speed and ability to germinate and thus reduce the field emergence in an undesirable and inadmissible manner. When choosing the coating substances it must also be particularly taken into account that the field germination even if the seed is not hewn are affected to a considerable extent by soil silting up and the associated exclusion of air can. This effect is reinforced by the use of previously known coating compounds that alone or predominantly binders are used, which are under the influence of soil moisture by strong Reswelling clogs all pores and capillaries of the artificial envelope. Air or oxygen access the germinating and thus intensely breathing seedling is made more difficult or when it is very wet Soil made impossible.
According to the main patent, it has already been proposed to counteract this damaging influence by that the coating substance for the application with the help of hydrogen peroxide on one of the germination of the various Cultivated species adapted redox potential is brought. In addition, the main patent discloses several additional measures with regard to the adjustment of the pH value of the coating compound, the composition the binders and suitable additives that also contribute to achieving the desired end effect.
Dies erfolgt gemäß der Erfindung während des Umhüllungsverfahrens durch starke Alkalisierung, die örtlich oder zeitlich oder auf Verfahren zur Umhüllung von SaatgutA proposal to improve the process compared to the main patent and all previous processes γ consists in the fact that the coating compound - apart from J other additives, as they are according to the main patent and j the following versions are possible - j Technically obtained oxygen-absorbing, autoxidizable substances, e.g. B. pyrogallol, tannin or the like ■ Substances, are added. But when these substances are in the reducing oxygen-free form of the encasing compound are added, they cause severe germ damage. As the invention intends the oxygen supply To improve the germinating seed accordingly, it is imperative to use these substances of the Subject to autoxidation. This is done according to the invention during the wrapping process strong alkalinization, locally or temporally, or due to the process of coating seeds

B. in Wasser gelösten Per-Verbindungen. Diese Substanzen bieten auf Grund ihrer spezifischen Eigenschaften mehrfache Vorteile:both ways is limited, with the simultaneous addition of strong oxidizing agents such. B. in water dissolved Per connections. Through additional use stronger oxidizing agent should be achieved that in addition to the autoxidizable substances all chemical Substances of the wood or peat meal that are suitable for oxidizing are largely covered will. The re-release of oxygen occurs during germination in the soil with the help of microorganisms the spermatosphere and thus offers increased in the sense of the task of the main patent Guarantee of a sufficient supply of oxygen to the enveloped seeds in the germination bed. It turned out that so Coated seeds germinate much faster and better than the uncoated starting material. Since the first Root growth is also favorably influenced, it must be assumed that some in the case of the alkaline Oxygen-rich substances produced by oxidation are additionally absorbed by the seedlings and can be used favorably in the respiratory metabolism. To support these measures and to enable them The predominant use is for an intensive gas exchange between seeds, coating material and soil mineral binders such as water glass, lime, cement in the appropriate concentration. These substances offer multiple advantages due to their specific properties:
The alkaline reaction is used to alkalize the exploited autoxidizable substances.
In contrast to organic binders, they remain insoluble in water after setting and do not contribute to the clogging of the pores and capillaries of the envelope material, which are important for breathing.

3. Die Verwendung mineralischer Bindemittel in variablen Mischungsverhältnissen mit quellenden organischen Bindemitteln, vorzugsweise Maleinsäurepolymerisaten, erlaubt zusätzlich eine Anpassung an Böden verschiedener Wasserkapazität.3. The use of mineral binders in variable mixing ratios with swelling organic Binders, preferably maleic acid polymers, also allow adaptation to Soils of different water capacity.
The breaking strength of the cladding can be increased significantly beyond the previously known level. the Danger of the coating compound after sowing due to the use of water-insoluble binders opposes too high a resistance to the growing root does not exist. The swelling pressure of the individual wood or peat meal particles are completely sufficient to destroy the solid structure of the shell.
As is known, water is used as a carrier liquid for binders and coating materials. To prevent, that during the wrapping process this water to a significant extent in the Penetrating seeds and already triggering undesired germination processes makes the invention of the fact the influence of the ouelling through the use of non-electrolytes. The water as a carrier liquid is used in the first half of the wrapping process preferably so much cane sugar added that due to the osmotic Competitive effect a swelling delay of the seedling is achieved. It has been shown that this added sugar with the correct dosage has an additional beneficial effect on the later field germination Has.
For particularly sensitive and rapidly germinating fine seeds the invention to further support this measure proposes to lower the temperature during the wrapping below room temperature, preferably at +4 0 C.
To protect the coated seeds against emergence diseases, the normal concentration of only one type of dressing agent has been used for sugar beet and fodder beet. It has been shown, however, that this method does not yet offer optimal protection, especially in the case of coated beet seed, especially when thin seeds are exposed to increased soil moisture after early sowing dates. According to the invention, therefore, the dressing takes place in such a way that organic, metal-free dressing is applied in two to three times the dosage directly to the seeds to be coated, and metal-containing dressing in one or two times over dosage on the outermost coating layer. In support of these measures, the sheathing material at a pH value is further according to the invention to from 7.5 to 8, because fungal pathogens find worse opportunities for development under alkaline conditions towards the end of the wrapping operation.
Netzmitteln, vorzugsweise Saponin, in entsprechender Konzentration erreichbar. In the main patent it was already recommended that the coating substance be given special active ingredients to promote youth growth to add. Continuing with this idea, the present invention provides specific ones in its own right Composition of the respective sperm atmosphere to add appropriate bacterial concentrates to the coating material. It has been shown that the germination of almost all of the seeds in question for the coating by genuine, d. H. substances inherent in the seed or through corresponding substances of the organic coating compound constituents is inhibited. This inhibition of germination, mainly in an inhibition of the first seedling root growth is to be looked for, but, under the influence of stronger bacterial activity, suggests a germination and root growth promotion, which is far above the effect of known growth substances. Particularly effective Bacterial cultures proved to be highly enriched with bacterium herbicola. An impairment of this Transformation is only in the case of seeds with a relatively high content of organic nitrogen compounds Seed or fruit peel possible due to bacterial ammonia formation. By using the According to the invention, autoxidizable substances containing coating material are, however, significant amounts of Nitrogen compounds are deprived of the rapid bacterial conversion, so that no harmful ammonia concentrations may occur. A promotion of these bacterial processes is by the invention Addition of surface-active substances or wetting agents, preferably saponin, in appropriate concentration accessible. At the same time, the addition of wetting agents promotes the initial readiness to absorb water dry coating mass in the soil. Naturally, this effect is particularly valuable when swelling organic Binder are added to the coating compound only in small amounts or not at all, and thus the decrease in the hydrophilic properties of the shell.
Some types of seeds that are especially suitable for medicinal plant cultivation are covered after sowing not with soil, as they are encouraged to germinate by the action of light. As the wrapping for this Seeds but means a complete exclusion of light, the invention provides for this case, germ-releasing salts, preferably nitrates, to be added to the coating compound in an appropriate concentration. It is obvious, that some of the measures described, for example influencing swelling by adding non-electrolytes or wrapping at reduced temperatures, even outside of the context of the other features of the method described are of crucial importance for the artificial calibration can be of seeds.
To 1. After floating in water, the coating mixture reacts acidic due to the addition of peat (pn = 3.5 to 4.5. This acidic reaction enables larger amounts of mineral binders (cf. to 5 and 7) can be added to the coating compound with an alkaline reaction, 5 can. If the proportion of peat is to be increased, from the substances mentioned under 4 are added correspondingly more to the coating compound.
To 2. The entire amount of cane sugar is dissolved in the smallest possible amount of substance 3 and sprayed immediately after the seeds have been introduced into the coating pan. By continuously adding 3 during the Wrapping takes place gradually in concentration drop. During the drying of the husk seeds, the sugar diffuses into the outermost coating layer, from there into the soil after sowing.
Bacterial cultures are added to the carrier liquid. The organic dissolved in the carrier liquid Binders can be used to adapt the husks to soils of different water capacities in different Concentration is present, in extreme cases it is completely absent. The carrier liquid is sprayed in Constantly changing with the dusting of the envelope mixture until the seeds with a sufficient thick covering layer are provided.
The type of application of the substances mentioned under 4 to 7 is of decisive importance for the high efficiency of the coating compound according to the invention. The alkalization of the coating compound can be used in conjunction with the addition of autoxidizable (4) and oxidizing (6) substances by various methods, preferably however, be carried out after two of the following:
a) Zeitlich begrenzte Alkalisierung:a) Temporary alkalization:
The alkaline binders mentioned under 5 and 7 are to be added to the carrier liquid 3 or to the coating mixture 1. The amount of 5 and 7 is then to be measured in such a way that during the continuous wrapping the wrapping compound constantly has a value of p H = 9 to 9.5. The autoxidizable substances 4 are added continuously dissolved in the carrier liquid. The oxidizing substances 6, each dissolved in a little water, are added alternately in numerous small portions during the wrapping. At the end of the coating process, the pn value of the coating compound is lowered to a value of Ph = 7.5 to 8.5 by adding a dilute acid.
b) Zeitlich und örtlich begrenzte Alkalisierung:b) Temporally and spatially limited alkalization:
The alkaline binder mentioned under 5 is not to mix with the carrier liquid. The alkaline binders mentioned under 7 are as under a) to be added to the shell mixture. The amount of the binding agent mentioned under 5 is based on a preliminary test to be dimensioned so that the mixed with the substance 7 shell mixture after intimate mixing with substance 3 and 5, gets a value of pn = 7.5 to 8. The temporal and local alkalization of the Enveloping compound now takes place in that the alkaline waterglass solution is used during the wrapping process not continuously in small portions, but sprayed in intermittently in three to four larger portions will. This is preferably done after 150, 450 and 700 g of the coating mixture have been consumed. The coating material lying on top at this point in time is oversaturated with binding agents with an alkaline effect and suddenly gets a value of pn = 10 to 11. Only after gradual diffusion of the alkaline binder in the deeper layers of the coating there is a drop in each case to about pn = 8.
alkalischen Reaktion ausgesetzt waren.
Accordingly, autoxidizable and oxidizing substances must be added immediately after the alkaline binder has been sprayed in. Preferably, however, the procedure is such that the autoxidizable substances 4 are added to the alkaline waterglass solution several hours before use. On the one hand, this saves one work step, on the other hand, there is the certainty that these substances have been exposed to the alkaline reaction long enough for autoxidation. An addition of dilute acid as under a) is not necessary.
To 9. The wetting agents are after the conclusion of the
Umhüllung gestreckt mit Substanz 1 eingestäubt. Auf gleichmäßige Verteilung ist zu achten.Covering stretched and dusted with substance 1. Make sure that it is evenly distributed.
