Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom l8. August 1877 ab. Längste Dauer: 8. Juni 1892.Patented in the German Empire from 18. August 1877. Longest duration: June 8, 1892.
The subject of the present invention is the construction of a shut-off valve for liquid lines, which is provided with a device to prevent the in Drain fluid that is otherwise left in the pipe and that often freezes in winter. Since it is not possible in very many cases, the water pipes in the Laying buildings, pumps, hydrants and the like free of frost is what made them so Institutions claiming the need to construct devices which provide a comfortable and allow safe emptying of the lines, especially during the night when the Water pipes are not used, are exposed to freezing. as well This emptying is necessary in the event of a repair which turns out to be necessary of the lines.
The present valve tap is characterized by simplicity in construction and safety in effect. In particular, the present construction lacks anything more sensitive and easily damaged parts, such as feathers, etc., and therefore still has the great advantage of easy repairability.
Two different arrangements of the apparatus are shown in the accompanying drawing. On the continuous spindle A, Fig. 1 and 2, there are the two threads « 1 and» 2 , and the lower « 2 is of greater pitch than the upper« V. The upper thread a ' rotates in the associated nut thread of the valve B. The spindle still carries the valve disk C between the two threads, which, provided with a leather washer, seals on the turned valve seat C in the web of the valve body when the valve is closed. The lower end of the spindle A penetrates with the thread ar into the drainage valve i? with a corresponding nut thread. The latter seals the screwed-in valve seat d by means of a leather washer e . The valve D has a number of cannulations in the guide shaft for the flow of water, one of which is penetrated by the adjusting screw m and thus prevents the valve from rotating. The course of the water is indicated by an arrow. The water enters the valve housing at M and, when the valve is closed, reaches above the valve disk C. If the same is lifted by turning the spindle A , the previously open drainage valve D is simultaneously pushed down due to the difference in the thread and seals on valve seat d . The water then passes through the opening c in the webs of the valve body and thus reaches the outlet opening N. If the valve C is closed again and the drainage valve D opens, the water still remaining in the line runs through the latter, as it is located at the deepest point.
In the other arrangement, FIGS. 3 and 4, the spindle A is also provided with the two threads of different pitches β 1 and ar . The thread a * turns again in the valve cover B, the thread a 2, on the other hand, is located above the thread a 1 , and on it sits the web £, which on the rods e 1 and £ 2 carries the drainage valve D , which by means of a leather washer from seals from bottom to top. The water first enters the valve body from side N below the web. If the valve is now closed, as in Fig. 4, the drainage valve D is open, and the outflow of water from the line occurs through the holes cc in the valve disk D. If, however, you open the valve C by turning the spindles, it closes again due to the difference in the pitch of the two threads α f and α 2 the drainage valve D and the water passes through the opening in the webs at M to the drain. A small hole connects the lowest point of the outflow side M with the hollow space o located at the bottom of the valve body; which is formed by the seat d of the drain valve D.
Of course, a stuffing box 5 seals the passage of the spindle A through the valve cover B in both constructions.
