Description
The invention relates to an exhaust manifold for multi-cylinder internal combustion engines, their to The connecting pieces leading to the outlet openings of the cylinder cover consist of rigid pipe parts, which are connected to one another in a gas-tight and elastic manner by means of a corrugated pipe connection, with access to the hot exhaust gases under constant pressure change to the corrugated pipe connections through a interposed between the rigid pipe parts and enabling their mutual mobility against one another Connector is shielded.
In a known exhaust manifold of this type, the intermediate pipe section formed by two interlocking tubular pieces that can move axially against one another. This interlocking offers effective protection of the metal bellows against the pressure waves of the exhaust gases, impaired but the mobility, because the guide corrodes quickly.
The invention overcomes these disadvantages and proposes that the connector or the rigid pipe parts provided with a narrow annular bead at their mouths facing each other which is guided in a cylindrical inner surface of the adjacent mouth.
It has already been proposed to provide the exhaust pipe with a spherical zone-shaped bead, which is guided in a cylindrical inner surface of the exhaust flange attached to the cylinder cover or - as is the subject of an earlier German patent - intermediate pieces with two adjacent pieces Spherical zones, which are arranged on the outside of the intermediate piece and each in one the cylindrically widened mouth of the pipe ends that are close to each other engage closing, to enable all-round movement of the pipe ends against each other. However, spherical zones require A certain amount of effort in terms of production technology and do not guarantee an absolutely gas-tight connection.
The invention is based on the knowledge that there is no interlocking one to keep the pressure waves away requires cylindrical pipe pieces, but that this only requires a line contact and that this line contact, in view of the only slight shifts under conscious movement, is 4-5 pulls on the spherical zone-shaped training formed by a narrow annular bead can.
Es zeigtTwo exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing. It shows

Fig. 3 ein anderes Ausführungsbeispiel in größerem Maßstab.3 shows another exemplary embodiment on a larger scale.
In FIG. 1, 1 is the cylinder cover, 2 is the exhaust manifold and 3 is the connecting piece between the outlet openings of the cylinder cover and the exhaust manifold. As can be seen from Fig. 2, the connecting pieces 3 consist of a plurality of pipe-like or pipe-bend-like Parts 4, 5 and 6, which are articulated and gas-tight to one another at their joints by means of membrane sheets 7, 8 are connected. To relieve the relatively thin membrane sheets from fluctuating gas pressure, have the ends of the pipe pieces on bead-like reinforcements 9, which with corresponding cylindrical Co-operate surfaces 10 of the adjacent pipe section. The membrane sheets can, as in 8 indicated, be U-shaped in cross-section and are with the pipe socket, as indicated at 11, welded. However, two ring-shaped membranes can also be welded to the pipe socket, which are connected to a ring 12 on the outer circumference. The end facing the exhaust manifold of the connecting piece has a flange 13. The flange 13 is with a flange 14 of the manifold screwed in a known manner. At the end of the cylinder the connecting piece is through a Bayonet catch 15 with a sheet metal socket cast in the cylinder cover at an incline upward 16 connected, on which a flange 17 is welded. The sheet metal socket is like this arranged in the cylinder cover that a machining of the cylinder cover on the top before welding of the flange 17 is possible.
In diesem Fall sind an Stelle3 shows another embodiment of the elastic connection of the individual pipe parts 4_, 5 and 6 of the connecting piece. In this case they are in place

einzelner Membranen über mehrere Stoßstellen reichende dichte, elastische Glieder, z. B. Wellrohre 18, vorgesehen, die an Flanschen 19,20 der Rohrstutzen mittels Schrauben, Nieten oder Schweißung· usw. oder auch direkt an den Rohrstutzen befestigt kein können.individual membranes reaching over several joints dense, elastic members, e.g. B. corrugated pipes 18, provided, which on flanges 19.20 of the pipe socket by means of screws, rivets or welding · etc. or attached directly to the pipe socket.
It is expedient to arrange the gas-throttling plug connections between the individual pipe sections in such a way that the expansion of the collecting line is absorbed essentially by longitudinal displacement of the pipe sections into one another. Furthermore, it is advantageous to keep the length of the pipe bend 5 as large as possible so that only a slight tilting of the same is caused in the adjoining pipe sections. If the pipe bend 5 is not straight, not of circular cross-section or not concentric to the beads 9, an anti-rotation device, as indicated for example at 20 in FIG. 3, is required between the resilient element and the pipe socket.
The attachment of the collecting line to the internal combustion engine is expediently done in the manner that one or more juxtaposed connecting pieces, preferably those located in the middle of the engine, are rigid. The end the manifold can also be connected to the rigidly attached exhaust gas turbine with an expansion piece be connected. It goes without saying that the connection piece depends on the position of the exhaust manifold to the cylinder cover can consist of more or fewer pieces of pipe.
The invention is not restricted to the exemplary embodiments described above, but can also in the usual design of the exhaust ducts with an approximately 90 ° duct deflection for radial engines Find.
