Besondere Vortheile werden bei der Herstellung derartiger Steine durch die Verwendung von Flintstein erreicht. Dieser zeigt bekanntlich neben seiner grofsen Härte eine ebenso grofse Sprödigkeit und leichte Spaltbarkeit.
