Abstract
The device has a porous body (1) with a communicating pore chamber in a housing (2) with at least one inlet (5) and outlet (6). A device (3) for electrically heating the porous body is provided and the pores forming the pore chamber have a pore size that enables combustion The porous body is made of electrically conducting material that is connected to an electrical current source, preferably via a switch element. An independent claim is also included for a method of operating an inventive device.
